How does that extra room look like nowadays? IŠm just getting confused by all divergent reports on eveinfo, on the forums and on the in-game walkthroughs.
Are there only sentries when first warping in or is the whole pack of ships already present? Will they aggro? Does the 5 BS re-spawn exist? Any idea about the distances from the enemy upon warpin?
Thanks

I did it (L4 AE bonus room) last week.
When I entered the bonus room, there were all sentry guns and also all ships already present and all aggroed after a few seconds. Distance was about 25-30km with the webbing frigs closing in quite fast and the rest follows suit...
The 5 BS spawned when I killed one of the BS, but it took me a while to get there and could probably been timed respawn.
Drops weren't that fantastic, the 11th something officer thing and some T1 stuff and ammo from the other structure, ships drop the same loot as the other ships in AE.
You should bring good Exp/Kin AND Therm resists, as the cruises from the towers are therm and do quite some damage.

If you have a good tank, yes. Generally people bring down the sentries first, it's usually no problem after that.

cruise towers do hellish thermal dps if you're not tanked for it, once they're down there isn't much thermal though, and once the rest of the sentry towers are out you're down to Loads of exp, lots of kin and a little EM, mostly of the missile variety.
Everything agros when you warp in, but you get 5 more BSes spawned right at the retirement home when you kill the Seraphim.
Doing it in a dual repper domi i usually have to warp out once, which lets me change the thermal hardener to an EANM since the cruise towers are dead along with more than half of the sentry towers usually.

Sentries/Rats actually start out about 60 km out. Damage is mostly explosive... kill the cruises first to reduce thermic damage to almost 0, tank for explosive primarily, kin and em secondary.

its fairly easy in NH with 43% invi,64% expl and dcuII for resistance. Not sure about all T2 setups beacause you need to be able to permarun your SB or repper since it takes sometime to kill sentries. Last change made it easier for BSs to do it with less frigs but HACs instead. Pays well enough for me but I'm sure many will disagree since its one of the hardest stages in game.

It's worth it because of the chance of domination loot from the battlestation (which i wish had a ton less hp).
I just wish I'd actually get domination loot other than a platinum tag from it >_<

If you kill the red overseer structure before killing the seraphim the 5 bs won't spawn at all (if you consider this a good or bad thing is up to you to decide). ---------------------------------------- A Guide to Scan Probing in Revelations |

You need the Angel Diamond Tag. I never got lucky finding one, so I bought it on the market for about 4mil ISK.
The tag doesn't disappear when you use the gate, so it's a one time investment if you plan on doing it more than once

I fly a Dominix with dual reppers. I mainly use sentries as my main firepower, but I would like to ensure that I can tank the room after iŠve taken down the sentries.
EVEMon says IŠve got 474 points in "defense" and my resists would be around EM75/Exp80/Kin55/The55 with 2 exp hardeners and one kin. Eveinfo states the DPS to be around 100/1000/250/200 (raw). If I do the calculation it gives near 450 DPS after resists, to be compared with the 474 (?). IŠve got no idea if I can trust this result though.

Are there any warp scramblers/NOS in the bonus room? I've just recently started L4 missions and sofar has been easier than I expected so i'd like to test tank in AE bonus room, but dont want to lose ship :)

Haven't been scram'd/NOS'd either. But be ready to warp out, the towers dish out a good deal of damage... After that it gets considerably easier to tank...

Did that extra room on my alt yesterday in Abaddon. Was sitting at about 70em/78therm/78kin/76expl resistances.
Warped in and got destroyed. I managed to get 3 towers down before having to warp out. Docked, went for a weird dual rep setup, worked ok. Lasted long enough to take down all the towers and it was easy mode after that, since npcs dont do much DPS.
I remember doing this mission long time ago on my main in a Raven. Was easier and faster :) ------------------------------------------------ If you can't dazzle them with brilliance baffle them with BullSh$t. |

If your domi is the typical 3x CCC domi, you'll prolly have to warp out at least once. With two nano pumps though, you can probably make it through without a warpout.
DPS is as breaks down as follows (eveinfo is outdated), without the reinforcements:
EM 210.38 EXP 811.91 KIN 230.22 THERM 106.86
You should be using 2 exp hardeners, an EANM, and a DC II instead of your 2 exps's and 1 kin. I've done the math for this, and have determined the 2 exp/EANM/DC2 combo to work best for armor tanking this pocket.
As soon as you warp in, drop your bouncers and take out the cruise batteries (as well as locking the scram/web frigs). Once the cruise batteries are down, take out the scram frigs with your bouncers if they're still far away enough, or scoop bouncers, start running away (don't worry about the sentry turrets, they put out very little DPS; you want to keep as much distance as possible between yourself and the blob of battleships... you want as many BS's dead as possible before they get within optimal), and let loose your warriors. Once scram frigs are down, continue to run away, let the berserkers loose, and start siccing them on battleships. Kill the BS's before the cruisers in this pocket (contrary to normal mode of operations) because the cruisers are HAC's and will take as long to kill as the BS's, yet won't damage you as much as the BS's.
With 2 T2 LAR's, the above stated hardener setup, and 2x nano pumps, the damage will initially break your tank, but once you've killed the cruise batteries and a BS or two you'll start repping back to 100%. A faction/officer repper and/or a faction/officer exp hardener will make this pocket a lot more comfortable.

Ok, I only see your reply now, here is how it went for me. I went in with 2 LAR II, DC II, 2 EXP hardeners (N-type) and 1 THE hardener. I was at 80% on EXP and 75% in THE. Less than 50% for the rest. The plan was to swap the THE hardener to a KIN after the sentries had been taken out. I fly my Dominix with 2 CCCs and a nano pump.
I agree with most of your comments about how you should tackle the room. I did the room in a very naive way and would likely have a similar approach to yours if I got the same mission again.
What happened: I tried to get rid of the cruise sentries as soon as I could. The danger in that room is that you THINK you can tank it all upon warpin, but the truth is that only the sentries fire at you while the rest of the foes gets closer and closer. When they open fire, youŠre dead meat.
I saw my armor drop quickly and after I had killed 4-5 sentries using the bouncers I realized I had to warp out. I killed two frigates using Hammerheads II (I don't have the spec for Minmatar to use Valkies II) and went out. One of my first mistakes was to take the occasion to swap the THE hardener.
The truth was that 7 sentries were left in space because I had read on eveinfo that only 3 cruise towers and 3 angels sentries III which was wrong, and they hurt me A LOT when I came back. I focused on the frigates cause I was afraid to be warp jammed, but it actually never happened for some reason. I was taking so much damage that I had to kill one ship and warp straight out. My structure was at 75% a couple of times. I managed to clear the room using Berserkers on the 250.000 ISK bounty cruisers and by taking down the Malakims so I could switch off a repper.
So what I would do next time is still fitting my THE hardener but staying on the sentries until ALL are gone. Then warp out, get on the KIN hardener and start taking down the frigates first (quick kills) and then the two BS Malakims (they orbited me at 8km). This will make the DPS go down drastically so the rest can be taken hands down without warping out.
I didn't get any faction loot, 30k Bane torpedoes, 30 Ogres and a Domination tag, plus a few basic mod

First off, train hull upgrades immediately so you can use T2 hardeners and eanm/dc. They'll help a lot.
The sentries' DPS is laughable, especially in the therm category: http://npc.elfarto.com/view.php?id=16740
Don't bother to fit therm in the first place. Again, 2 exp, eanm, dc ii works best, I've done the math already so you don't have to. Kill the cruise batteries first and this will reduce the therm dps to a laughable level. After this, the exp damage is so much greater than the kin damage that further fortifying your exp resists with the eanm and dc ii will do more for you than a kin hardener will do... remember, the eanm and dc ii will both help your kin and em resists, and there's just as much em damage coming in as there is kin.
Kin hardener is standard for most situations against angels, but for this room it isn't needed, as the exp damage far overwhelms the kin damage, and there's just as much em damage as kin.
Oh, and congrats on making it out alive. I would have never even tried it with t1 hardeners, so gj.

yeah, don't bother to fit therm .. that's exactly what i did first time i went in ae lvl4 secret pocket ..
There are 3 cruise missile battery there that shoots in therm, first time i had to warp (wasn't prepared) because of the 3*300 i took from the cruise batteries :D
Now, each time i keep the same fit (kin/explo) but as soon as i warped in the 6th pocket, i take my sentries out and begin to shoot those cruise batteries .. the difference is great.
To reply the first question and just to confirm what others already said :
- all is popped when you warp in - all aggro a few seconds after warp - seraphim BS makes 5 bs pop, (3 thorn 2 malakim or 2/3) - 30-50 km distance when you warp in

Well IŠve had a look at my journal, and it shows the room's content in terms of ships and sentries was pretty different to some of the reports you can find on the forums including this thread: - 3 Angels Cruise missile batteries - 5 Tower sentry Angels III - 2 Arch Gistii ruffians (frig) - 2 Arch Gistum defeater (cruiser) - 2 Tower sentry Angels II - 2 Angels Light missile batteries - 2 Angels viper (frig) - 2 Gistum breakers (BC) - 2 Gistatis Tribunus (BC) - 1 Gistatis Legatus (BC) - 2 Gist Malakims (BS) - 2 Gist Nephilims (BS) - 1 Gist Seraphim (BS) - around 1.2 Mil bounty
So 28 ships/sentries aggroing :)
After the seraphim's dead: - 1 gist throne (BS) - not as tough as the Seraphim though - 4 gist malakims (BS)

So i just recently started doing missions.
Doing them in Abbadon as i have good skills for it. I get absolutely destroyed in the last room. I have fairly decent resistances, 75%+ on kin/therm/explosive, but rep cycle on my repairer is simply not fast enough to cope with damage dealt.
I warped in 1st time and targeted cruise missile guns. Took down 2 before i had to warp out. Is there a good setup for abbadon to do that room without warping out. I saw some poster above saying he had a dual rep setup, is that a good idea?
Thanx

Just solo'd again last night .And i tank Kinetic/Explosive also , it's tough for the first 5 minutes , if you can hang in there for that long , it's no problem.
Although i seem to start a little different than what i've read here .
I start with Sentry IIIs > Sentry IIs > Cruise Missile Batteries > HACS > BCs > BSs > Frigs last, i never have gotten webbed or scrammed at all in this room .G/L !

Abaddon setup for AE bonus stage. Exp II * 2, Kin II, Therm II, EANM II, LAR II * 2 and mids full of Cap Recharger IIs with 3*CCC rigs. Like was said before, your tank may slowly break until the sentries are dead, but you're dual rep will last long enough for you to kill most of the damage dealers. At which point you can switch to a single rep and cruise through the rest of the mission.

Would a domi fitted with 2x Gallente Navy EANMs, 1x Shadow Serp Exp, 1x DCUII, a LARII and a MARII also be able to cope? Cap should hold for 16 minutes according to EFT. Rigs are 1x CCC and 2x Nano Pumps.

Probably not, your explosive resist will be too low, and the LAR/MAR mix doesn't repair enough.
