Anyone got a decent explanation for these? I noticed my onboard scanner won't scan for signatures. What is the difference?

Anomalies are small combat sites called encounters. Signatures are the real exploration sites like complexes, asteroid belts and profession sites. Recruitment Thread EKT Website |

Ok and another question, if i were to detect a magnometric cosmis signature would it be possible to find it using another type of probe? Using Radar probes for instance, or is it impossible?

Any kind of exploration probe (not multi) can be used to found any site. However, each probe is best at finding those signatures it is designed for.

What if i find an "unknown" signature? Any kind of probe will work or i'll just have to try all types to find which one?

HIGHLY inadvisable, with the exception of unknown signatures (which work equally well with all probe types)

Any advice on what exactly an unknown could be? is it basically just one of the four types but a random and unnamed one or are unknowns generally a certain type of signature?

Unknown signatures are generally complexes.

Unknown signatures are generally complexes.
And all probe types have equal chance to find an unknown? for sure?

Correct.
Do unknowns usually take 20+ scans to find? :/ Multi probe says there is one here, got probes at every possible location, it seems unfindable.

If you're in the Drone Regions, the only difference between Encounters and Exploration is that one of them sucks slightly less than the other. Still not sure which one, though...

Both suck greatly. If either of these were a prossi in Amsterdam they would be the busiest (and richest) girls there
1) Radar, Ladar and magnetometric sites DONT exist in the drone regions. 2) Gravimetric sites are mostly small with the odd medium. After exploring over 100 systems in the last 3 days ive not found anything better than a med site. I dont think large exist in Drone. 3) Considering the mineral rewards from the alloys there seems little purpose to actually finding grav sites and mining them. 3 Hours ratting will give you more than enough minerals to build any battlecruiser and you can rat a battleship with a little more effort if you want.

There just aren't many large sites, no matter what region you are in.
