Hello all, What do I do when NPC or Player start to fire missiles at me? Is there a guide for that?
Thank you so much in advance Bloodmoon

a) tank it b) fly faster then the missile, (or the missiles explosion velocity) c) have a very small sig radius d) use defenders
generally a and b give best results. c combined with a or b is also good.

You can also jam them. Speed and sig radius are the big ones though. -=^=- "Someday the world will recognize the genius in my insanity." |

Only with Interceptors by training up the skill, which reduces it 5 or 10%/level.
I used to get It. Then It changed. Now I don't even know what It is.

Before I say anything, let me admit I'm pretty much a total combat noob.... I couldn't help but notice that nobody responding mentioned Defender missiles. So I am curious if there's any reason why...

You must manually activate the defender missile launcher when the missile is locked on you and in flight, and reactivate for other missiles as if they were an enemy ship. Your launcher also spams missiles at the first missile in a barrage, and ignores other missiles until the target missile is gone. Once the targetted missile is gone, the defenders that are in flight lose a lock and are wasted. The launcher then starts firing missiles at the next missile.
Since no one in Eve fires their 5-8 missile launchers one at a time, and since you will have lost the damage from using a real weapon in that launcher, people skip defenders and go for DPS and use the aforementioned techniques to evade/minize missile damage.

whoops! that defenders mention above completely evaded me.
Thanks for the info. Looks like I'll be skipping any heavy use of defenders

The alternative is by using Halo implants, but they might be out of your price range.

Be small and fly fast. If NPC firing at you is stationary you can also try to fly out of its range as is possible in some missions. See what kind of missiles NPCs hit you with by checking your combat logs and harden your ship against that damage type (tank).

Sensor Dampeners will reduce their lock-on range and your signature radius.

Uhh no, just their signal, meaning their lock on time, it has no impact on enemy sig radius...
