Rather than hijack a similar thread on T2 BPOs, I'll start a new one. Admittedly, I'm ignorant on this topic, but I always understood from hearsay that T2 BPOs were distributed through a lottery system based on cumulative RP (research points) with an agent.
I actually received such an offer in June or July of this year from my R&D agent. However, recently I've been reading posts that imply this lottery is over.
Has CCP terminated the T2 BPO lottery? Are they planning to? Any links to official CCP declarations (Dev logs) would be greatly appreciated.

The Lottery is dead, no more T2 Bpos will come out of it.
all T2 will come via invention, the Data cores you can cache in your RP for are used in that

Is that CCP's official position? I'm wondering because I'm spending a good deal of time running missions w/an NPC corp for access to better R&D agents. Thanks!

CCP stated that the T2 ships coming with Rev3 would be invention only, so that's a pretty good comfirmation.
R&D agents are used to give datacores now, and, if you choose your fields carefully, should be more profitable than a virtually zero chance of getting a T2 BPO someday (could be 10+ millions/day). ------------------------------------------

1/ You're overestimating a bit the value of Mechanical engineering datacores.
2/ As an experienced R&D runner (15 lv4 agents), I can tell you that the very idea of getting standings with no less than 5 R&D corps, is an example of extrem masochism. ------------------------------------------

It's much easier now, since you start directly with L4s and you split standings with the alt. Also, MechEng cores should hike upwards of 2 mil per unit after Rev3, if not more, and that for quite a while. Eventually dropping down towards 1.2 mil or so, but not soon, unless CCP also increases exploration droprates massively. _

Selling things outside jita can double the amount of isk you get. Ppl are ready to pay premium for convenience. And jumping 10-20 jumps to jita from 0.0 portals is pretty darn inconvenient... ___ P.S. Post with your main. Mind control and tin hats |

I am constantly hearing from so-called experts that the lottery is dead. Yet despite all my reading I haev not seen a single official post from CCP that it is in fact over.
I too have read that the new t3 ships will be made through invention however this does not rule out further t2 ship bpo drops etc.
I haev begged CCP to post the end of the lottery system in a clear and concise way but they refuse too which indicates to me the the future of teh BPO lottery is still very much undecided and as such I am holding on to the 700k rp point I have.
If you read this CCP please acknoledge.
Thanks ADM

Umm... The problem of being a trader is, you have to be one step ahead. If you go into specifics ( like, say in trading npc goods) someone else will aready have taken the sweet deals, and you get stuck with nothing. So I won't go into details, because it will ruin my business, but I can say this in general.
portals to 0.0 Major traffic hubs.
For example set direction to NOL and see what the last safe empire system is, and set up shop there. Or the route to any good 0.0 region. The drone regions produce so much high ends, it's not even funny and as such those might be very good places to set up zyd buy orders and haul them from there to jita to sell, and on the route back take T2 gear and generally equipment that is not native to those regions. I made quite a bit of isk back in deklein just running stuff from 3jn to L-C. Other was a guristas region, so guristas loot was cheaper than empire, while serp loot was empire x2 in price. And vice versa for fade...
Another example is, that amarr ship datacores go for insane prices in gallantean regions and vice versa... ___ P.S. Post with your main. Mind control and tin hats |

Separate accounts, obviously.
You can only train one char per account anyway, and there's no point in ever stopping skill training for "your main". The only use I see for more trained chars per account is if you want to start fresh but might like a fallback, or if you want to buy a new char for industrial/research/mining purposes. _

For ze datacores...unless you wanna go find a plex and get some from there.
Also, there is still a veeerrrrrryyyy sligh chance of getting a T2 BPO...but this requires an existing T2 BPO to die i think.

Invention stinks for T2 BPO owners. It's destroying the T2 economy. Everyone and their dog is making T2 stuff now and the prices for T2 materials are going up due to demand while the profits on T2 stuff is in the toilet or at least not what it used to be. T2 BPO owners had it made before, now they have to compete with everyone. How fair is that?
T2 ships fully fitted with T2 stuff are all over the place since every bozo can now afford them.
Scrap invention and bring back the T2 lottery. Or better yet just scrap invention.
Note: The above is sarcasm. Or maybe I was just channeling a T2 BPO owner. Invention is pretty good and a much better system then the T2 lottery. There's still plenty room for improvement, of course.

I just hope we never get BPOs for t3 and that they don't require t2 copies to make since that would give t2 bpo owners the overpowered unbalance they had before invention.

T3 BPC will require an invention job using a T2 BPC and loads of expensive stuff.
The T2 BPC for the T3 job will require an invention job using a T1 BPC and loads of expensive stuff.
Not all invention jobs work, therefore T3 is going to be horrifically expensive.
