Is it worth putting a command ship pilot with max mining bonus's + implant into a rorqual and what sorta numbers would u be looking at?
atm i got the barge mining lasers cycle times to 139.5 would manning the Rorqual drop this number by much more ?
with ice t2 harvestors cycle times are around the 3mins 45 sec mark
and standard turrent lasers cycling at approx 46sec (could not remeber exactly)

currently, you get 131.4 duration vs. the 139.5 duration with mindlink on the rorqual when it is in industrial mode. Which with four hulks and a two hour op equates to about 2 extra cans of ore (57,158m3)

I sooo want to spend 2b+ on a ship that is such a difficult target to take down and increases mining output so dramatically.

Style is all it is.
That extra boost equates to having those 4 hulks mine for another 7.5 minutes to get those last 2 cans vs. training capital industrial ship skill to lvl 5. Not saying that Im not a fan of style, and dont get me wrong I already have a nice butt groove worked into mine.
However I really think these things need to change mining like Carriers changed PVP.
Right now its just not happening.

The numbers aren't right Chronotis.
Each level of Industrial Cap Ships adds 5% to the effectiveness of the ganglinks, no?
so maxed out without Rorqual with the mindlink we have 22,5% which translates to 139,5 sec cycle time at ICS level 1 22,5% times 1,05 is 23,625% = 137,475 secs at ICS level 2 22,5% times 1,1 is 24,75% = 135,45 secs at ICS level 3 22,5% times 1,15 is 25,875% = 133,425 secs at ICS level 4 22,5% times 1,2 is 27% = 131,4 secs at ICS level 5 22,5% times 1,25 is 28,125% = 129,375 secs
unless level 1 doesn't count at all.

Hmm... So there is absolutely no point in using one of these in a belt when my max spec leadership command ship corp member gives the same as level 2 rorqual. No reason for that to sit in a belt, lame.

We need an ORE Command Ship tbh, I do like the Rorqual (just because it's a carebear thing) but it still lacks a smaller type of vessle with mining bonuses.

According to its bonuses (i havent confirmed this), yes.
Personally, i'd like to see this applied to the moros' drone bonus, too, but that's a matter for another forum .

Then its bettter to use EOS with 3 gang modules and 5miners t2:P or pvp setup with cyno?:P then sit in ror to get slight bonus and risk 2b+ ship

Why risk it? Drop a small POS. If you can't afford a single small POS, a corp hangar array, and the fuel costs, you probably shouldnt even be considering using a rorqual as a gang link ship.

Because if you don't take it out you can't use its tractor beam bonus and need someone to haul the ore to you to compress. That said I'd never use it like that in 0.0, if I get one it's going to be solely a compression machine (I'll leave jump-hauling to the carriers). ---- AUS Corp Lead Megalomanic EVE Automated Influence Map: Keeping Down The Clone Business Since 2007AD |

If you take the ship to the belt to use the tractor beams you either:
a) have to siege in the belt to keep the mining bonus and compression going -- this seems risky
or
b) leave siege and lose the mining bonus and also the ability to compress and be a worthwhile hauler -- without being able to compress the rorq can only haul about twice as much as a T2 hauler but with the agility of a capital ship which would render it less useful than a real hauler.
The rorq seems cool, but I'm not sure it is much better than just using a normal hauler taking things to a POS. The rorq can compress all the ore in a minute or two, and then jump out. It doesn't really need to be at the op for its design feature unless you really want tractor beams -- at which point you have to siege in the belt for 5 minutes which people will want to avoid.

So, you gain like what, maybe 25 mil worth extra in ore (that's two can's worth of best ore right now, right) ? Realistically speaking, more like 20 mil, even less. Divide by four pilots in two hours, and it's 2.5-3 mil extra per hulk pilot per hour (if you don't count the Rorqual pilot in on the split, then it's only 2-2.5 mil extra).
Well, not bad, but not impressive either.
And at L4 in both skills, you eat up 15360 units of heavy water (6144 m^3) in the process (in 2 hours). At least the cost is negligible (half a mil or so). Just remember to bring enough of it with you for the whole op. _

NO - why
The theorie results are good.
But its not the cycle time but that every ganglink have his own results of extra bonus:
mining foreman link - laser optimization >> into duration Mining Foreman Link - Harvester Capacitor Efficiency >> Capacitor need Mining Foreman Link - Mining Laser Field Enhancement >> into yield
etc. etc.

Ya I don't get this ship anymore. I mean ore compression is cool, but I see the hardest minerals to move around are the low ends which are mined in safe sec, but you can't get jump into safe sec, so uh ya, I guess you could do your low end mining ops in a .4 or lower system, but for the average low end miner that is hard to do. This ship really isn't going to help where I thought it would, and that was the transportation of low end materials, since you need so many of them.

you can have a pos in low sec empire, have all the ore you want compressed in pos or station hangers, transport it to the capital, have it compress till its full of veld or scordite or whatever you want, jump to a 0.0 refining stations and there you go,or a pos refinery ...

Looks like POS Compression Array, would make much more sense than Rorqual.
