Thankyou for your wonderful comments about British and Eurpoean Produce. I can't say I live in an igloo though, flats are more my style. Maple syrup swilling only when I am having Riccota pancakes. I am certain that EU could give USA a jolly good thrashing before we all die so I boubt they will try anything funny.

Heh, m'bad, assumed Canada from the whole antsy about US thing. The EU's got nothing to worry about. American imperialism will manifest elsewhere before it goes anywhere near the EU. We have to have a first world nation to buy our output products.
Y'know what they say about assuming....

Do you honestly believe America would be so arrogant with their foreign policy, if they didn't already have a way to neutralise hostile missile based WMD Thats what this is all about at the end of the day.. They have their "starwars" missile shield and complete battlefield superiority.. They can invade and claim resources to ensure the future stability of the US economy as they see fit.. and make up any ******* excuse they like either way, soon as monday hits, this thread is locked.
Compare it to the BOB v RA fight.. the swaggering stopped soon as their "edge" ended.. (Ie the titans/supercaps being able to escape dictor bubbles..)

Democrats: socilaism, pacifism, higher taxes to support socialism
Republicans: less socialism, aggressive defense, lower taxes.

Today there is hardly any difference between the two parties. They both prostitute themselves for lobbyists in the various industries.

Ever since the Democratic-Republican party dissapeared around 1824, all parties have been useless.
Then again, the Know Nothing party is involved in the Republican party.

Surely that's on a par with describing {well known WWII german guy that the filter doesn't like} as a wishy-washy liberal.
What's conservative about it?
whats progressive about it? Really, do tell. AFAIK your southern states would still love to lynch every ***/black/arab person in the US. "We dunt take kindly to yer kind round hee-ur!" or every politician still starting a speech with reference to god? Really, where is the progressiveness? I'm intrigued on your opinion here malcanis.
Curiousity is good. For a start you might be interested to learn that I'm English.
The Bush administration is not a conservative administration. They came in to power with an agenda of radical change, which they have substantially enacted.
"Conservative" is not the antonym of "Progressive". There's nothing 'conservative' about the huge expansion of state power and extent. There's nothing 'conservative' about a president who only declined to veto a single bill of the over 1800 "pork barrel" items, but refused to allow a bill to make it illegal for Federal or Military personnel to use torture. There's nothing 'conservative' about a sustained and co-ordinated assault on personal freedoms
The word you're looking for is 'Regressive'. Every legal mechanism required for dictatorial rule is now already in place: non-oversighted surveillance, habeas corpus is gone, citizenship can be removed by fiat, the right to public dissent is effectively gone, the electoral process is heavily compromised with international election monitoring not accepted, torture in now an acceptable method of interrogation, and a president who has been quoted as describing the US Constitution as "just a piece of ******* paper". It's now simply a question of boiling the frog.
That's not 'conservatism'. It's the counter-revolution.
very insightful. Regressive is the word I was looking for indeed.

Death is correct, there are two major parties in American politics, Conservatives and Ultra-Conservatives. You have no idea what liberal is, DarkMatter. Try reading up on the Canadian Liberal party, they actually swing left of middle, where your Democrats swing right of it, and the Republicans far right.
An even bolder example of liberalism can be seen in Mainland European parties, especially the Dutch system.

To Americans, there is a big difference, so says 120 million people or so... More voters than the populations of your 3 countries combined...
So you can have your opinions, but they really don't mean anything. Just like Americans viewing all your politicians as ultra liberal... You really don't care about those opinions either...

Lol, your an idiot.
You don't have to be there to know eh?? You are really full of crap you know that? Your anti-americanism and nationilistic ideals are flawed and ignorant. Your news organizations spout the same amount of propaganda as mine do, the only difference is that my country doesn't give a **** about Norway, while you are obsessed with the United States.
So you don't have to be there to know? I guess reading a book about combat and being in it are equally valuable in judgment. Your just as educated about the holocaust as its victims right? All because you read a book or watched a biased Tv program?
Isn't it funny how American citizens make up a large portion of this game but yet these threads are always so full of hate for america? Thats because Americans don't really give a **** about most other countries. We are ****ed off about the EU's overinflation of the Euro, China's undervaluation of their currency, and our owns governments involvment, or lack thereof, on boarder control. As far as the war goes, only 11% of us support it. You can't always get a great leader, and for the last two elections we have had the choice between idiot #1 and idiot #2.
To anyone even thinking Hillary Clinton will be elected.. lol. (you can quote me on that) Bill Clinton sold out America, as has Bush. We haven't had a good president since Reagan and it shows. You guys do know that you don't feel the effects of a presidency until 4-8 years after it has gone by right?
Oh and to Deathkill, wtf has Norway done that was of any importance to anyone in the world in the last 1000 years? Nobody cares, really, no one.

Raided, pillaged, and traded with some of the most powerful nations of the time? (Vikings) Suppling surprisingly high amounts of oil/gas to developed countries? Having one of the "free-ist" governmental practices in the world? Tis also one of the richest countries in the world, something your country is almost the complete opposite of ?

Reagan? Please. Under his administration the deficit ballooned. Do you remember Iran Contra where he was selling weapons to Iran to fund Contra terrorists in South America?
He also deregulated whatever he could screwing workers and homogenizing industry through new found monopolies. This is why only 4 parent corporations own practically all news and entertainment, framing American thought or lack thereof.
The deregulation also bankrupted many real estate developments. This with some other "deregulation" policies ultimately led to the largest political and financial scandal in U.S. history: The Savings and Loan crisis. The ultimate cost of the crisis is estimated to have totaled around $150 billion, about $125 billion of which was consequently and directly subsidized by the U.S. government, which contributed to the large budget deficits of the early 1990s.
The Environmental Protection Agency Scandal arose when it was discovered that the administration was releasing Superfund grants for cleaning up local toxic waste sites to enhance the election prospects of local officials aligned with the Republican Party.
Lets also not forget the Reagan Administration providing funding and CIA training to the Taliban, bringing ***** Bin Laden to power. I think we all know how that turned out?
I find it entertaining how much you Republicans covet everything that is Reagan. He was hardly the God you picture him to be. I would wager that if a Democrat did all those things, you would have burned him at the stake.

Lay off the FOX News channel buddy. With your same logic, I could claim that since you supported funding the Taliban to fight the soviets you are in league with the terrorists and hate freedom. You need to go back to school to gain some critical thinking skills.
Also, the US is friends with plenty of governments that are far more oppressive than Iraq. China is by far the most oppressive government in the world but yet we look the other way when they violate human rights, essential freedoms, send people to re-education camps, conduct more executions than all other countries combine, etc.
Just because someone disagrees with the current administration is hardly grounds that they hate freedom. If so, 70% of Americans must hate their country. I for one think that the US Constitution is one of the greatest documents ever created and Communism much like anarchism is complete bull****.
You have this flawed assumption that blind obedience to ones government = patriotism. That my friend is fascism.
Patriotism is love for ones country and the desire to make it better. Two people can have complete opposite opinions on policy but they are obviously patriotic because they both are trying to make things work. You know, like a DEMOCRACY.
Also thanks for completely ignoring all of Reagan' other scandals too. Wouldn't want to tarnish his godlike image.

Can I just say that just because the USA dosen't give a damn dosen't mean the rest of the world dosen't look up to it as a foreruner of modern society? In the EU it is up near or at the top of the most respected countries in Europe, even though it isn't in the Union. It's neutral, it's small, its bloody good at negotiations because of that.
