I have been told in Trade channel now that they are supposed to sell fro 50 million isk. And seeing Qual WTB a int +4 implant for this price here makes me think its the least I could demand aswell.

I would say that 50M is at the top of the scale, and probably a price paid by someone desperate to get one. You regularly see them on the market at 25-35M (admitedly 25M is cheap).

Got another one here, if anyone wants it.
And no, I'm not selling at the lower end of the scale

Won't let me edit, so I'll have to bump.
Since I see people WTB the +3 implant at 12 mill, and not finding a seller, I'm assuming for argument's sake that the +3 memory is worth 15 million. The +4 memory might go for 35 million generally, but that's to people upgrading from the +3; in effect, they're spending 50M by paying 35M for the new, and trashing the old.
Well, I don't have the +3 mem implant fitted; so the +4 is worth 50M to me. Ergo, I'm not selling unless I get offered that much. If I can only sell for 35M and then have to go buy a basic mem, I may as well fit the thing myself
So; while I freely admit that, from the POV of someone who has the basic implant fitted, this might not be worth 50M: nevertheless my price is not coming down.

Another way to see it is of course that if a +3 is worth 15 mil, a +4 is 4/3 better than the +3 and should cost 4/3 of the price, i.e. 20 mil. But since the best of every item always fetches a premium price, I'm prepared to pay 25 mil for a +4 mem implant.

SHOULD cost? Which universe are you from?
Things cost what the market will bear. +4s are hard to find, and highly desirable, and the market will bear vastly higher than 25 mill - as evidence by the guys wanting to start a bidding war after I'd agreed my 50 million ISK sale. If I were a bit less honourable I prolly could've pushed it up over sixty.

Edited by: Barbicane on 17/02/2004 16:51:20 Well you Baldour, as well as I, know that the market is not perfect. Especially not when it comes to rare items where people will pay what they think they have to pay, often without even considering whether the price is right or not.
The +4 mem implant is a fairly new item in the EVE universe (which, in reference to your question, is the universe where I'm from) and a proper price level is in the process of being established. You, as a (greedy?) seller, of course want it to be high, and I as a buyer want it to be low.
Time will tell what the right price is for this item, but for the common good of consumers everywhere, I stand by my claim that 25 mil is an entirely fair price.

And I stand by mine that the entire concept of a fair price is completely ludicrous.
