For those who are interested in card games, CCP created the EVE collectible card game.
I'd love it if that could be taken to a different level and CCP were able to create EVE board games.
Examples:
EVE Monopoly: Replace Streets with Regions, Houses with POSs and Hotels with Outposts.
EVE Chess: Pretty self explanatory, only 4 races to chose from rather than the simple black or white pieces.
Any other ideas?
I obviously have no idea of the costs of such items, but if it is at all within possibility then this would be something i definitely would buy! |

Eve snakes and ladders. The player pieces are non-tanked T1 industrials and each square on the board represents your bank balance, starting at 0isk at the beginning and increasing the further along you get. Higer numbers on the dice represent more proffitable npc trade routes, ladders represent finding a high profit pc trade route, and snakes represent hi-sec suicide gankers.

Outpost in Jita?
So, what's the title of the Jail square? Tempban? CTD? Patch day?
How about pictionary? You draw the ship and the others guess what ship it is? Trivial Pursuit, different categories like Corps & Alliances ("Whitch corporations founded BoB?"); Events("What alliance did build the first Titan?"), Geography ("What's the name of the named system in Syndicate?"); Forum Spam (What's the deal with Templars?") and so on...

Anyone remember the table (BIG table) top game "STARFIRE(tm)" ?
Something along those lines for EVE would certainly interest me. Get some mates round for patch day. When the server decides not to play, at least the days not wasted. |

EVE Risk.
One side's BoB, the other Goons.
Who will dominate the cluster?

Given that practically all of the people we know in the real world think that we are a bit strange for devoting all this time to a PC game and can't get their head around it...plus, if by some miracle we do know someone else who playes Eve they are most likely going to be sat in front of the computer at their house and I at mine...
Who the hell are we going to find to play a board game with???? A silly idea...

Trivial pursuit would be a good one, but would take a hell of a lot of work to put the questions together.. Pictionary wouldn't need a new game, you could just play pictionary :P |

You could also adapt Star Fleet Battles or the old FASA Starship Tactical Combat Simulator.

B5 wars rules can easily be converted to use eve ships would take no work at all tbh except making the data sheets and changing some weapon specs.
There was a Game released by Fasa long time back based on the mechwarrior universer where players controlled one of the great house's and could conquer systems and had to handle economics ect and buy upgrades and units ect, cant remember the name but it was really awesome stuff, I remember 1 game taking nearly 3 days to play.

I dont know if any of you here are familiar with tabletop war games but Aerotech by FASA could easily be adapted to an Eve setting -> http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/8196 . Only problem would be finding a copy of this game these days since Games Workshop destroyed all these other smaller war game companies a long time ago. I've still got a copy of it collecting dust in the back of a cupboard somewhere but you cant have it ;).
Edit: Beaten to it

ôWar is not the dreadful end to all things as mankind fears. Conflict brings balance to nature as it adapts, mutates, and transforms itself into something stronger than before. Mankind is the master of nature because we can choose those mutations on our own accord. We can accelerate the inevitable dominance of a species. Through war, we can make ourselves stronger at the time and place of our choosing. War is not hell, far from it. War is beautiful. War is divine.ö - Grand Admiral Mekioth Sarum, excerpt from a commencement speech to Paladin graduates of the Imperial Academy, 23215 AD |
