Originally by: Dei No offence to Electric Fox, but why are you telling us about the thorax as though it's a bed-time story?
"The Star Fraction then did the unthinkable! *flicks page* They beat the evil Band of Brothers with a team of 10 thoraxes. So, Timmy, it just goes to show you that everyone can be beaten with enough thoraxes. The End."
I mean c'mon, speed up a bit.
Actually, Timmy really enjoyed listening to that with his cup of hot cocoa and Mr Woggles (his teddy). Coincidentally, he is also the reason for the absence of innuendo in the profile of this "special" ship.

Audio issues should be resolved for the next episode, had a few "issues" that led to many funtimes in the studio that day. Loved the end credits though, they dont do Stevie justice though :)

Another Good show - have watched them all, and even if they are a bit inane at time good entertainment for eve junkies like myself. Nice to see them go back to free to view, although I am a bit unsure how their business model supports it (I paid to watch the last few anyway). I don't always agree with some of the suggestions - eg. Angel's T1 Cruiser ban, they are not ideal and although we as a corp provide free T1 Cruisers and mods to members, they are simply really a stepping stone for pvp experience, and allow some of the lower sp players to get into 0.0 combat. Overall it is good to hear one of our opposing FC's discuss events (Tri as far as we are concerned are lumped in with Razor, MM and the rest of the 'Old North' - they may protest and she says they are not really interested in territory but they have been spending a lot of time fighting with them and trying to capture territory - sorry getting carried off subject.) However its good to see someone like her knowledgeable on events and pvp commenting on the show. Overall Eve TV is good and I hope to watch many more episodes.

Was a pretty bog standard episode, but watchable, which is always nice. Plus, anything free is good. If it stays free, then i'll watch every week, since there won't really be anything to lose, except for 30 mins or so :)
Also, I got mentioned again. Always nice.
I like having Angel as an expert. Better than Farjung, who knew little/nothing about goings on in the North. Obviously Angel is in Tri and not MM/Razor so misses out on a few things, but still a massive improvement, so kudos on that.

Just watched this week's episode.
Usual good stuff, but have to admit that the last five mins of 'Stevie's Show' really made me chuckle.

You guys deserve to get paid. How do you spend all this time on it and still able to have another job?
Oh well maybe some of you will get a good job because of this, I'll miss you though.
Who pays for the studio or anything?
You all just doing this for fun?
I donĘt get it.
Because before I thought CCP was paying you.
Either way the show is the best most awsomest show ever!

Being a proverbial starving student and having previously been too stingy to spend my cash I stumbled onto EVE-tv for the first time - hungry for details about the tournament - and I must admit that I thoroughly enjoyed it. Kudos guys, I will be returning for a second fix, pay-per-view or no.

Edited by: Damian Vilsalant on 23/09/2007 13:47:06 Good job on finally getting a free stream set up. You just gained a new viewer.
I didn't really expect the pay-by-view system to work and it would be kinda sad to waste all that time and effort if only 0,01% of the players ever actually get to watch the show.
I'm glad you came to your senses. |

In case a free version turns out to be not doable, a hybrid system might be possible. Have the episodes available for 2 to 4 weeks for paying viewers and then adding them in a free for all archive.
Or if it's mainly the bandwidth cost, pretty much the same as above, but have the free episodes available for a limited time and have paying viewers have access early and access to the archive.

Edited by: SN3263827 on 23/09/2007 19:12:30 A few things about the ship profile:
The word "gimped" reared it's ugly head, which is just awful. It isn't hard to find a better way of conveying the same concept. The general sentence structure doesn't flow well. This is a combination of speaking in the second person ("you get less" etc) and use of passive tenses, and general poor phrasing.
When I got the script that was sent out for applicants to submit I was astonished by the poor quality of writing, as well as the incorrect pluralisation of thorax and the inaccurate pronunciation guide for Astarte, either of which could have been prevented by spending 30 seconds on Google.
The information given seemed patchy in places as well; obviously a 90 second piece on a ship can't hope to cover it comprehensively, but in particular the subject of nano-fittings seemed rushed and incorporated purely as filler - it was mentioned that despite having a lot of lows thoraxes aren't nano-fit as a rule, without explaining why, and that's because they only have 3 mids, which are also essential in a practical speed setup.
Please don't think that this is an attack on EVETV - I've volunteered my time from the outset and have a lot of respect for the quality of the majority of work that has been done, but this week's ship profile (and the unfortunate catch-phrase heavy coverage of the tournament) struck me as amateurish, and I know you can do better. _____________________________________________
