Originally by: Darius Shakor Just a tip on jumping, don't use the right click menu. Use the overview selected item section. You don't have to wait for the menu to open then. Select the gate mid warp, have jump gates showing on your overview too and save it as a travle set and just hammet that button until you jump.
Uh, wrong.
Set autopilot to your destination. Manually jump. Screen goes black. Screen re-appears in new system and you are cloaked. Align manually to next gate by finding the yellow the jump gate on overview. When aligned, right-click warp to 0. IN WARP, set autopilot.
The autopilot will jump FAR FASTER than your meat-finger can push any UI button.
Don't forget to deactivate autopilot during your transition to the next system.

Just to try and test out Rtoz's problem decided to go to Tama 10 in local and see what he was talking about.
NYX , Myrm and Drake at the gate
FIOS Internet Cable $8000 PC Computer 8800GTX SLI etc...
Warp to 0 at the gate in a shuttle and never jumped. Before I knew it I was in a new clone.
Total BS is right

weirdly enough, Sherrif's correct for a change.
The body's natural state after eating is sleep. All your body wants to do is digest the food and start using all the available goodness. Also alot of foods contain chemicals that actually cause sleep :)
If your eating more of the energy giving varietes of foors. . Sugars etc etc then you should be using this energy otherwise your just gonna get fat.
To the op . . . Yawn

Same thing happened to me. I was in a pod though. Mid warp it said someone has commited an illgal act. Then while still in mid warp i suddenly woke up with my clone. I only just saw the gate on my scree by the time i was in the clone station I wasnt even within 100km of the gate. I petitioned my implants and was denied though :(

This is normal for a smartbomb camp.. And yes lag was involved but not like you think.. You actually appear at a gate where the campers can see you a few scant seconds before you client finishes loading the grid so you can see them.. During this time you can't be locked up just like when you exit a station but in a smartbombs case it doesn't need a lock so you got insta popped.. Why it gets all laggy is that you died before the grid loaded fully and when it finally loaded it was in the middle of trying to put you in your clones station hence you seeing the hostiles but not able to activate anything.. Then the client catches up and poof your in your clone.. If it wans't a smartbomb camp you would have made it past no problem as long as you didn't get pulled out too far from the gate by a bubble.. Sorry but game mechanics got ya not lag..

The creator of the graph obviously made it after reading this post. He was then so pathetically dumb he fudged up the graph to produce a negative intelligence. ----------------------------

Originally by: RtoZ Ok, back after dinner. I just logged in and checked the killmail, and indeed it was a smartbomb. Now my question is: how many explosions does it take to kill a crow? I mean, I did have t2 resists allthough no tank. And I did'nt see any explosions, just a pod then death. This after my evemail blinked...
Remember, warp to zero, right click, jump... thats all I had to do here, within normal game rules and lag didn't let me. There was only one ship on the killmail. Flying valuables through lowsec was a calculated risk, but how can I calculate server lag? The performance had been fine right up to the gatecamp. And this wasnt the first gatecamp I've flown through.
Lofty: I run two clients on this machine with minimal slowdown, the lag was server side.
Is there an exploit out there with smartbombs lagging out people's clients? Because from the receiving end of this it sure seemed exploitish.
It's petitioned, let's see what the admins think of the issue I suppose...
The lag isn't server sided. Yes loading the grid takes longer if you are flying right into a gatecamp using smarties. But that's got more to do with taking longer to load as opposed to lag.
Simple solution your simple mind probably didn't think of or are to lazy to do, don't fly the AP approach to the gate. If a gate is camped approach from another moon or so.

Originally by: RtoZ .....had I had control, even while taking damage I should have had time to jump gate into the next system. The point of the whine is that I was lagged out before I was killed and unless someone confirms that a large vehemance can instapop a crow I think I should have had the time to jump on the gate.
No, you wouldn't.
A proper smartbombing battleship doesn't have ONE smartie... It has as many as it can fit! If the pilot knows what he's doing, you got hit by the whole rack!
You're getting hit while you're still dropping out of warp, and most likely dead before you're at the gate. It's your own stupid fault for warping to 0 in a paper-thin ship when there are unknowns in the system.
Face it, you f***ed up! Not the server/CCP or whoever else you want to blame... It was ALL your very own fault!
As other people has mentioned, the lag you experienced was triple session change lag. First on entering the grid, then on entering your pod, then on entering your clone station.

this.
happened to me just yesterday in a shuttle in fact. it is graphical lag from 8 smartbombs and multiple drones deployed, this is done intentionally to lag you. sorry for your loss. next time don't fly through rancer

Crow, all navigation skills at either V or IV. Warp to 0 at a lowsec gate transporting somewhat valuable modules. Gatecamp. Screen freezes. Evemail flashes while crow is still alive. At this point I am trying to get a right click menu to issue a jump command. Normally this takes around 1-2 seconds. Not tonight though, my screen is frozen. At least 5 ships flashing red. Then pod. A second later I'm in a new clone. Total of number of inputs the game interface allowed me: 0.
FFS sake CCP. How is it possible the game can be so out of sync that I can get killed and podded in a lowsec system and lagged out with less than 10 people on screen?! Either the servers are broken or someone is using lag bomb type exploits...
For the record: I have a lot more stuff and can simply shrug off tonights events, so no, not leaving, nobodies getting any, i'll make the isk back soon enough. But the sense of injustice and incapacity of the game engine to provide a predictable gaming experience is harder to Shrug off. Good game EVE, but still has a long way to go...
I'm sick of losing ships to lag, if you can't fight it at least have code that takes it into account. If I am lagged out and FUBARED it should not be possible for me to be targeted and instapopped, the enemy should be lagged out too.
End rant. Errr, discuss or something.
No one needs to cry for you! After all you know the Risk and if you have such a old PC why do we need to slow down our PC's for you ? It sounds like you have been lagging the game for others.. Get a new PC !
