Anyone prepared to suggest a layout for an Osprey re: a shield transfer set-up, against Serp and Angel rats.
Thanks in advance

Edited by: Chi Quan on 23/09/2007 19:32:08 i prefer
3x med shield transporter (S95a preferably)
3x cap recharger II 1x small shield booster
2x cap fux coil II 1x co proc II
it is not as effective as the 2x large transfers, but can be run permanently, even with mediocre skills. 'few numbers, assuming caldari cruiser 4 and nothing else:
dual large: 67,2 cap/sec; 153,6 shield/sec tripple medium: 47,4 cap/sec; 115,2 shield/sec -- Tempus fugit -- |

How about using cruiser sized modules on a cruiser sized ships, eg: medium shield transporters.
Theres a reason we have logistic ships with bonous allowing them to use large ones.
For a osprey its roughly: Mids:1xAB Med Cap booster(800's) CRII x2 1xumm... medium armor rep o_O 2xCPR/1xCPR+1xDC/1xEAMN+DC

Because 2 large have a bigger range and use less fitting than 4 mediums with same transport ammount

Try the fitting above, it should work fine with some skills

Ok what i like to use for my alt to help out if needed:
2x large energy transfers (best named t1) 4x large shield transfers (best named t1) 1x 10mn AB t2 2x Cap Recharger t2 2x medium Cap Battery t2 2x PDS t2 2x CCC rig
The t2 transfers need to much PG for my liking. My main has at least 1x large shield transfer fitted in case the rats get a lock on the osprey but usually i dont even need that.

As a new player (2M sps) with two accounts, I've never given any thought to using my Osprey for anything more than a mining platform while my Drake is off doing missions. Using my Osprey in this capacity kind of excites me. How much would a T1 Osprey layout actually bestow onto my Drake? Enough to make a material difference?

150-160 hp/s from a osprey
a basilisk would be 400-450 hp/s
depending on skills and mods used

I've tried a Osprey large shield transfer set up (low cost mostly - named t1) with 2 large Atonement transfer units in hi's Barton caps in mid, and cap power relays in lows, because I am mathematically challenged I put this in support of an armor tanked Domi in level 4's that I previously couldn't do, now its an embaressment, the Domi has yet to get into armor in any significant way.
I do now have 2 spare slots on the Osprey with about 40tf CPU left and bucket loads of power, (I wish Defenders worked) I put a remote sensor booster in the mids to help the Domi + sentries.
Works well, but turns lvl 4 missions into a mining type exercise.
Thanks all for your help!

If you're running Cruiser/BC class ships, the tanking boost from an Osprey is sensational.
CONCORD provide consequences, not safety; only you can do that. |
