I've recently thought about how we warp around to complete missions and warp back to the station to collect our reward. According to the theory of relativity the agent would be long dead and there probably would be no reward to claim! lol..that always bothered me in star trek when the enterprise would dock with earth and everyone would go see their families..bleh. Fiction ftw!

Ah but warp is FTL, therefore time does not follow known RL theories. ______________________________ A Request About Lag Discussion -- Yet another "Edit my sig devs!" request \o/ |

Surely when you're warping one way you're going forward in time, so when you warp back you're going backwards in time

All the agents you see are simply clones of the first agent.
Star Trek was just stupid 90% of the time and should never be used as an example ------------ This is not War... This is pest control - Dalek Sek

warping even though it is faster than light travel.
the speed of light = 0.00200398707 Astronomical Units / second
It technically is not in eve's universe. - - - - - - Change just leads to more problems

I pity your lack of imagination.
Warp drives are not relativistic near speed of light drives. Warp drives are narrative devices to get around present mainstream scientific theory that you can't go faster than the speed of light relatively without using an infinate amount of energy (ofcourse the aliens will tell you this is bull). This saves you staring at a starfield for 25 months while you wait for the cast and/or your character to reach its goal.

Warping space is more like a 'tunnel', shortcut kind of thing, rather than fast speed.
Whatsit, an Einstein-Rosen bridge. Its not faster than light in the tunnel. ----

Relativisticly it shouldn't matter though.
The real answer is that it's just a game, get over it ;)

Because in reality your ship is not traveling faster then light...
Warp Drives fold space reducing the distance the ship has to travel to reach its destination, and therefore the amount of time needed to get there.
Hence relativity does not come into effect

This article talks about the onboard FTL drives (warp drive). It's not an einstein-rosen bridge (that'd be the stargate). Are you technically going faster than light if you accelerate the light around you as well? Well, that's depends on which light you're going faster than =) Scientists have successfully made sound go faster than sound, theoretically possible for light to go faster than light. Oh yes and one more important fact... EVE online is a game that sometimes ignores realistic physics (bumping, etc) in favor of gameplay.
Q.) What if I want a more realistic game experience even if it makes the game harder to play? A.) Get a vast majority of subscribers (not just forum junkies) to agree with you and figure out how to code it properly and it might be considered. The desires of a handful of players do not speak for the masses, and I assure you most players don't want a degree in theoretical physics to be required to have some fun with a game. |

But, the science of the 23rd MILLENIA, surely has bonked a couple of thousand scientific "facts", some even three times, over the years.
