Will EvE TV ever be anything other than a top tier love in?
It seems to be aimed at people with a lot of ISK and skill points. For example the market report and its billions of isk and the fact that straight after the report on the Thorax there were condescending comments about T1 cruisers and low skill (less than 20+ million point) pilots. Even the piece on the Mothership camping lowsec was more of a æhow cool it the guy camping the n00bs?Æ than anything useful for those players who got ganked. Did you try and get a comment from some of the newer players who were ganked by the Mothership in low sec? Did you think about doing something informative about avoiding camps?
Since the average Eve player is in the game less than one year, doesn't have billions of ISK to play the stock market, is not part of a 0.0 clique and has less than 10million skill points will Eve TV aim anything at this type of player?
Or will it just remain a clique show?
My original sig was 'Enjoy lag free play in a dynamic space MMORPG'. It was remove for lack of EVE content! ;) |

Tbh if your figures about less than 10 million skill points, and being around less than a year are true who cares what they think, they won't be around for long :P
(the above is a semi ironic joke, no offence is meant)

Finally something positive for people with below 50 million skill points.

I loved the thorax profile even if i did think there were tings missing from it like the uber tackler of doom setup. As regards the high skilpoint ships if you are serious about the pvp side of the game you should expect to fly with pilots who have them even if you do not aspire to flying them yourrself.
I really enjoyed the show expect the stock market thing.
Its good to see some of you Cruel Intentions guys up fighting in the North. Perhaps i feature on the messy political climate in the North would be a good idea for another show. If you are not living life on the edge you are taking up too much room

Eve TV has an occasional thing on the new player experience, following assorted rookies as they get to grips with the game. We've not seen any new installments for a few weeks though.
Anyway, regarding the exclusive use of experienced players for the expert analysis, might I just say that you don't see Sunday League players as pundits on Match of the Day for a good reason.

Look, if you want to have fitting suggestions for people with less than 5 million SP, there is a sticky in the Ships and Modules forum. Similarly, if you want missioning setup suggestions, the same applies. So too for basic pvp fits. Oh look, there's lots of advice for newer players in ALL of the stickies available to you.
Like any news program, Eve TV caters to the expected largest represented group in Eve... the 10-25 mill SP player, with gossip thrown in for all.
I don't see the problem.
They have 30 minutes. They cannot cater to all players in that time. They cater to those with seemingly the largest representation.
I don't see the problem.
If they spent their time focusing only on POS wars or fittings for frigates that needed all fitting skills maxed to level 5, I could see your problem. They don't, so I don't ;)
What adult news program focuses its attention to 14 year old kids, anyways? If you are a new player, odds are you aren't watching EveTV. If you are a new player, why expect it to focus on you and ignore the bulk of Eve players?
Again, EvETV only has 30 minutes to show their stuff. Best they remain focused than dilute it trying to satisfy too many view points. Trying to satisfy everyone results in no one being satisfied.
I've grown to like EveTV, and I have 30 mill SP ;P __________________________________________________ FOLD. The Ultimate PVP. It really is Us vs. Them. clicky |
