I would like to be able to change my skill by using sms.
Just send a sms to a number with the name of the skill you would like to change. Ofcurse for a small fee that CCP gets.
Anyone like this aswell? Could it be possible?

While we're at it I'd like to be able to change my skill training using my tv remote, I cant tell you how annoying it is to actually have to stand up and move six feet to change my skill training.

Well people are still going to play the game don't you think?

I like the idea of being able to change it by using my tv remote, But it would look stupid to have it with me at school/work.

Sounds like it might be a bit complicated.. How exactly were you thinking this was going to work.
Sit and type: Train: Character Amarr Titan?
What happens if you get it wrong :o
I don't think it's a good idea, although I do understand why you might want it. Best thing to do is push CCP to implement one of the skill training things there were thinking about, such as a skill queue or the dual skill training thing.

just give each skill a ref number. youcan look that up via your phone browser.
I'd also support this feature and ccp should too since it equels more money but youknow what people wioll say if they can do it via sms why not a free web interface I am not opposed to a webinterface either :)

If you get it wrong the skill wont change ofcurse [Character name][Skill name] I mean if you spell it wrong its your own fault.
And I don't like the idea of skill que because in my opinion you should guard the skilltraining.

Skill queue sounds like a really sensible option actually.

Edited by: HandSoLow on 01/10/2007 12:42:23 I think this is a fantastic idea!
A lot of people can not stay on EVE 24/7. If we could update our training skills via an SMS service it would be great. You embed your username and password which is 'salted' and is revealed in numbers instead of raw data.
CCP could not only make a LOT of money out of this, but if people where on holiday for a few weeks and came back, some of them couldn't be bothered to play EVE again as they think they have fell behind and feel deprived...thus losing customers.
But if SMS training was invented then they could train while on holiday, not only paying for a monthly subscription...but paying also for training. It would allow EVE to buy a few more nodes with the profit, which will improve gameplay and make more customers due to high quality service.
Great idea man, I think a few people here that commented on this with a negative response do not understand how a business is ran.

this is not even close to feasible... you'd have to get a deal going with gateway providers in each country it is made available in, then you'd have to create the backend software to interact with all these providers and the server.
Finally, given that the phone companies will take a cut from 45-60% of the fee, it would either be a loss-project or, unreasonably expensive per skill change. ---

Good (even if not new) idea. I would make use of this service if it were available and would also be willing to pay little extra for this service (ie. 5$ a year for remote-service and a few cent for every skill change). |

this idea has already been talked about and has been given a no way reply, if you read the in develpment / drawinfg board area you will see a skill queue coming up soon, this will change your skills when needed...

Another thread endorsing the success of those who don't have time to play.
No. The people who play 23/7 and can change their skills on time deserve that advantage. And before you ***** about having a real life and not being able to switch when you need to, stop and think about your argument.
You have a real life, so you can't play the game, yet you feel you should receive the same benefits as someone who can play whenever they want. Essentially, "Billy has a sucker and I want one too!"
It will not happen. If you want to play the game, play the game. ---------------
