I want to play Eve, but im not sure what i want to do really. Maybe its not having found the right corp.
I enjoy PvP, but i also enjoying running the odd mission or NPCing/Exploration.
Anyone else felt like that want to play Eve but there dont know what to actualy do in Eve? :)

hey I know exactly what you mean! at first i was just...well lost. I got an eve trial for one thing, for PvP... only...well... my first foray into low sec to get me some rarrr ended in a matter of minutes after a crow appeared and blew me up in seconds.
that was rather deflating, but valuable also, it bought into sharp relief the need to fly cheap as hell ships until i know exactly what I am doing tactics wise.
A few days went by and I wasn't really getting anywhere on my own, I searched the forums and stuff and found eve uni, and I made this character on a new trial and joined them ^_^
having other people to play with, and especially learn from (even more so when their aim is to teach you! :D) feels brilliant. I was in a class last night getting taught about scanning, scouting, safespots, a bit of tackling too, and there are other things coming up am looking forward to that are not combat related at all ^_^. What i think is intresting is that in only a few days of my first trial i had millions of isk but was frankly not 'getting eve', and now I have very little but more than enough as I know what i want to do and there are people willing to teach me how and support me <3
So, as you suggested, I would suggest joining a corp that you think will embody what you want to do so you can learn more about exactly what it is that you had an idea about of doing, if that makes any sense :P

I get that feeling myself when I do one thing too often in Eve. Just mix it up even if it means leaving your corp since it is a game you're playing, not a job.

I've never found myself lost in EVE, I went straight to combat and have never looked back.
The only person I know that felt abit lost in EVE is my RL-friend. I took him 40 jumps from the starting system and said: "Now do you see why the map is important?"
He was lost for 3 days and quit EVE

I would also recommend you to join a Corp or Alliance that fits your needs and play style. That really makes all the difference... EVE without a good corp or at least a group of friendly players is pretty boring... especially for a newer player because you will die all the time and have a hard time to gain any proper experience in PvP since most PvP is done in groups or fleets.
If you don't know what to do and who to join then feel free to give me shout in-game. My main is in a 0.0 corp/alliance that sometimes also recruits newer players as long as they are willing to learn. I can also give you a few pointers in other directions if you're not interested in 0.0 just yet.
Cheers Damian |
