They've done it a few times, the specific Bob incident you're thinking of is likely when the coalition was going after a 'titan' that turned out to be a mothership, iirc they put the 700 player cap in place, and had they not, the other 2000 or so players from both sides trying to get there would've likely crashed the node, if not the server as a whole in the process.
Cap was also used when LV's baby titan was killed iirc.
Do you make up things as you go along or you just repeat the crap that someone feeds you without knowing the facts?
First of all, the Titan that turned out to be Mother ship TURNED OUT TO BE EMPTY POS! All the capitals that were killed in that fight still hold the record of most capitals lost in a single battle. It was also known by opposition that it was not a baby Titan in the POS to begin with and it was held secret from their member, so basically they were all sacrificed.
Second, there was no cap limit on systems when LV lost their baby Titan, thatĘs why there was no way to defend 1K+ blob from crashing the node and thatĘs why CCP introduced the 700 cap limit in the first place.
Get your facts strait if you are going to repeat propaganda on CAOD or someone WILL call you out on in. This time, that someone is me.
