Posted - 2007.10.03 19:50:00 - [1] OK, after seeing the number of sites which offer advertising for ISK (EVE-Files to name but one), I figured that a much neater and simpler solution for both webmasters and advertisers could be found. So, I cooked up ISKsense. It's been in development for a month or so and has been fairly well tested on a number of sites. The trick with ISKsense is that instead of advertising on single sites you advertise on a large number of websites at one time, so you get much better coverage for even less work than typical methods of advertising. It's a simple way of handing out adverts, with huge levels of customisation for advertisers and webmasters. It's still in 'beta' in that I'm still open to feature suggestions and tweaking things for performance, but it's all working- including the automation system. Basically, to get money into the system as an advertiser you simply associate a character to the system using a limited API key (And no, we don't store any data apart from your EVE character name and character ID. We don't even store your API key). Once the system knows that character belongs to your ISKsense account, you just send money from that character to the character ISKsense Agent. After an hour (maximum, often much less) you'll have however much you sent added to your ISKsense account. Once the money is in your account, you simply set up adverts and you're good to rock and roll. Just set up adverts and they'll automatically go out. You pay for the clicks you get on your adverts. If you're a webmaster, just set up your website and create adboxes on that website- adverts will be shown on your website automatically. You're paid for clicks on your website and can withdraw your profits at any time by requesting it using the easy-to-use interface, and it'll be sent to your character as soon as possible. It's easy to use and means you can set up adverts instantly and have them out immediately if you have ISKsense credit established- so it's perfect for very small adverts like contract ads. Question, Can I set up some sort of automated payment method? Like if I get 10 mil in my account it tells you to give me the isk? Or even better if I want to advertise with you and show your ads, move money from one aco**** into the other? ------

I'll look into automated withdrawal requesting- right now I can't withdraw on a limit (User x has 10mISK, should withdraw) in the case of advertisers, but I'll have a go at that. It all uses the same 'wallet' for ISK if you're advertising and providing ads. You can be a webmaster and advertise at the same time and everything stays in the same account. The API doesn't support anything for contracts unfortunately I'm doing some rather nifty stuff at really opening up flexibility with the adboxes by implementing a template system to let you customise your adboxes using raw HTML. Are you in contact with any API devs about this whole thing, they given you any feedback? You might be able to sort of nudge them to expand the API a bit?

If you have a Eve website, sign up for this great service and get Eve related ads on your site- free, easy to setup, and it works very nicely. You get ISK per click. If you are advertising an Eve service, give it a try. It's not expensive, and you can get advertising like you wouldn't dream of, right to your target audience. Props to Ix Forres! -- 2d EveMaps
