Met a 1.5 month old player. he had 2 attributes at 30 and the rest at high 20's. Said his learning skills were maxed. Said he also had cybernetics maxed and using faction implants...
Is this even possible? I'm right about the age too....geez.

Maximum possible attribute sum is 125.4, and that with all learnings at L5 and +5 implants. You need 6,144,000 SP in learnings+cybernetics for that. That should take FOUR MONTHS to acheive if you did absolutely nothing else.
"High 20s" would mean at least 25, I presume... 30+30+25+25+25=135 He was flat out lying. _

Thanks...I hope so. I was scared that I was missing something with my training to improve it to his level.

Well, on the other hand, 106.92 total (a bit over 21 average) is quite easy to get in less than a month (L4 all learnings and cybernetics, +4 implants)... but then again, you'd only be doing that and nothing else. _

Fortunately, a fledgling combat podpilot has sufficient skills to run most Level 1 encounter missions and nearly all courier missions. It's a matter of knowing which missions should be declined (WC, any low-sec courier mission, etc.) to minimize ship/module/implant loss.

A spec-ops school combat pilot (not soldier) can get into cruisers a few minutes after character creation. He can then and train the minimalistic skills needed to fit them within hours... and L2 missions should be manageable, L1s trivial. Provided it's not a trial account, he can get into a battlecruiser in a couple of days. Battlecruisers should be a complete no-brainer for L2 missions, and with a little bit of care and a tiny bit of extra skills, somewhat adequate even for L3 missions.
Personally, I prefer Engineer schooling for starter chars, as you get plenty of support skills, L3 science (so you can plug in implants almost right from the start on an alt) and the int/mem biased learnings... of course, that's for funded alts only, genuine new players should pick specops (or if they want to focus on PvP instead of PvE right from the start, soldier). _
