I am guessing cos the moa is ugly as sin and due to it being caldari it should typically be a missile ship.

Well then blame the CCP artist for whoever drew 98% of caldari ships lopsided. And then take the one who drew the Moa out back and put him up against a firing squad. --------------------- Your sig is inappropriate. In the dev blog they did say that the t2 ships will be good for mission running AND also be very good at spending long time behind the enemy lines. So what me thinks is that this siege module might just be an ammo factory/fitting. --------------------------------------------- I fit an Expanded Cargohold II on all my ships to hold my honour

Originally by: vostok no mistakes, i really think that these ships will have a siege module, and assuming they do, we can expect them to be used heavily in missions by older players, my main concern is what becomes of the cost of fuel... i assume it will be stront that is consumed and having it used massively by mission runners, however we can probably expect mission rewards to go down... since people will be completing them quicker and more easily.
As stated by me above the devs said they would be able to hang around a long time behind enemy lines. i.e. without having to pickup more ammo etc. so adding fuel to the equation doesnt make sense to me.
Although a siege module is definatly a viable option in my eyes at this point i see something more along the lines of a role bonus or just better than normal bonuses.
Also tbh if they are adding in a siege module style thing it maybe so this becomes the ship that is more effective against caps than normal t1 bs which also means its the sort of ship designed to run level 5s solo. i mean i have been told that theres cap ships in level 5s which im sure can take along while to down. If they added a siege module-esque mod to the ship that increased its firepower and tank etc it would make level 5s much more viable... as is i hear they are all aload of camped by pirate bumsex. but i think thats mainly because ccp put so FEW IN THE GAME hintity hint hint. seriously put some more level 5 agents in the game in more pockets of lowsec for more corporations! i wanna carebear in my carrier abit!

No need for ship doing lvl5 solo, we only have such things and they're called carriers. But may be it's time we get ships, wich could run lvl4's without a problem, because I'm bored of the statement "If you run missions - train for a Raven". Myrmidon and a Hurricane can do lvl3 missions while your sleep over the keyboard, but with the Mega ot Hyperion it takes ages. And the risk of dieing is a lot higher. For now I don't see how these marauder will do better on missions with so little firepower.

lol no... I doubt the thing would be a mobile ammo factory. Dont forget you'd need mins to make the ammo, it wouldnt just come out of thin air.
If it did, that would screw with the market quite a bit.

I am looking forward to getting a tech 2 raven like nothing else.
I noticed that some people think that this post is fake. Maybe the pics have been photoshoped perhaps?
After sitting back and having some Mindflood I remembered back to the dev blog post about the upcoming expansion.
The home-away-from-home-tech-2-battleship Edit note: Long-range is not a reference to weapons range but the ships ability to go deep into enemy territory and stay there for extended periods. It is not a HAC either :)
If it's not a HAC, then why would they require HAC skills? The extra medium slot on a tech 2 raven, what for? a sensor booster perhaps? That would make it into a long range HAC for sure.
And also people have been saying that this info can't be found on the test server. So where did they come from?

I too am a Drone junkie, but my hybrid skills are almost there now, just AWU V to go. We do have named and perhaps faction drones to look forward to plus the new enlarged drone bays, being able to carry 3 sets of heavies/sentries plus 4 sets of mediums would turn a Domi into a Qasi T2 BS, if the new drones are better than T2 then I will be more than content with that.

I have seen all the info sheets on Sisi so the Pics are not fakes (They are under the T1 ships invention tab. But one I couldnt find was the mini freighter, the current freighters dont have an invention tab and I searched all over for some other reference to no avail.
Also the other T2 ships have different graphics in their info pic, but the Op's pic of the mini freighter shows an Obelisk. This new ship would have to be a new Hull unlike all the derivitives and why would it need to be T2?. Perhaps there are a bunch more ships we havnt seen yet. Anyone count 20 new ships in the pics?

It seems a lot of people are forgetting that many have said that these new HAC style BSs are NOT mission running ships. IIRC the original design was to create more versatile BSs for us all to enjoy.
No doubt there will be at least a 100% damage bonus which will open up new options for us all.
Lets say you have 3 utility slots available. Many donĘt think much of the utility slots but they can really change the battlefield. You can fit nuets, nos, a probe launcher, remote reps, and yes carebears can fit tractors and slavagers. Honestly IĘd rather salvage WHILE IĘm in a mission than have to come back in another ship, thatĘs a huge time saver. In the time it takes to salvage a big mission you could do a whole other mission. And imagine a PvP battleship group that can remote rep each other without losing any DPS.
And as many have said, we do not know the bonuses yet. It could have 10 different bonuses!!! It might have the typical combat bonuses plus tractor range, remote repping, scanner duration or anything else.
CCP knew that it the bonuses more than anything else that decide how a ship is used and with that in mind, IĘm sure these bonuses are going to be something greatą or theyĘll all be crap, who knows? IĘd also like to address those that keep complaining about the ōMission Runnerö being based on the Mega instead of the Domi. More than anyone else in this thread you people are ridiculous. ōOh noes my drone skills mean nothing now! IĘve wasted my life!ö How much easier do you want missions to be?! The Domi already does lvl 4s better than any Amarr or Minmatar ship. ItĘs second only to the Ravens, CNR and regular. And I suspect the new Raven is not going to be a heck of a lot better for missions than the CNR. But it may be the PvP solution missle chuckers have been waiting for. And your Domi will feel like a new ship with the big changes made to drones! You drone lovers should be thrilled! All your drone ships are getting a boost!
Is that enough exclamation punctuation?
As for the skill requirements they are fine the way they are. I am a bit surprised that command ships wasnĘt required. And there is no need to worry about seeing every newb flying these things in a couple of months. The minimum training time to pilot these ships for character creation looks to be about 6-8 months, for tech 1 BS itĘs about 6-8 days. And a tier 1 BS can be bought for 40-60mil iską these are gonna run about 1-2 billion at first and later stabilize at 500-600mil isk. (Just an educated guess, donĘt hold me to this)

2 BS, 1 cruiser, 1 frigate and 1 freighter equal 5 ships per race. 5 ships times 4 races equal 20 ships total.
You can list them by race and ship type if you look.
If you can't find them all here, look on Battleclinic's site for the rest. __ Rorqual AKA Mega Maid

It will likely have a 100% damage bonus, which means an effective 8 turrets, plus a 5% per lvl bonus on top of that.

You never know I will defend my corpie on this one for a change. Also loot >>> ammo he never said the minerals are coming from no where. I believe that this thing will most likely just have insane damage bonus's instead. So yes I can shoot with 4 turrets do the damage of 8-10 and oooo look I am saving ammo in the process. That leaves 3 highslots to spare in a lot of cases... salvager, tractor beam and hmmmm [insert mystery new cool module here].

Originally by: Sinder Ohm Regarding the heavy dictors.
I think the range of 16 km is too small because if you are hugging a gate in the new h-dictor and drop a bubble when the gate fires your target will be 15km from you and thus only need 1 km to escape the effect therefore I think a range of 18 - 20 would be better.
I also think that h-dictors should be able to fit and use the current dictor probe launchers since it still is a dictor, but I assume it wont have any ship bonuses affecting probe launchers like its destroyer counterparts do.
16km... well with heavy dictors 5, with a 5% bonus to its range per level. thats 20km.. kapow, there ya go... it need 'some' sorta bonus to its special ability as for it fitting a probe launcher... no thanks, please dont make a different ships obsolete by replacing it with something better that can do the same job leave dictor bubbles to dictors, leave this other neat new toy to the heavy dictors

Edited by: MotherMoon on 07/10/2007 18:31:21 It doesn't take a geniusto see that any ship can equip the warp bubble thing.
just like ho anyship can fit a shield transporter.
now riddle me this, why has NO ONE, even thought that like a logistics ship it will just use it better? and the speed reducion is only for non-interdictor pilots.
hell I'm sure they will get a 50% to warp bubble range per lvl.
it's a common CCP tactic, put in an item that any ship can use, and then have one ship use it really well.
can you list any item that not any ship can use?
hell you can ty to fit a strip miner to your frig, it won't fit but you can fit it.
so lets continue this thinking about the fact that every new item being made will be *****ble to any ship. ----------------------------------- I'm working my way through college target CCP need...more room... |

That's a little misleading though because while you may be able to fit it to almost any ship that doesn't mean the ship will be able to do much else.
For example take a XL weapon, sure you could put it on a BS but it really hurts more then it helps, same with a number of other modules. So if anything I'd expect the heavy iterdictors to have ship bonuses that make it fit easier and the other ships to have to choose between using it and maybe having to sacerfice fire power, tank, or something else.

The warp disruption field requires 5,000 cpu, and so like interdiction bubble launchers, covert ops cloaks, and other items, will only work on a ship with the proper bonus.

Yeah the Mauraders are going to be sick. From what I am looking at they are going to be like the klingon bird of preys of the game. So lets say a maurader jumps into a system with some noob ratting in a belt in say a myrmy or raven. Golem warps to the belt cloaked. Then it gets in range of the ratter drops it cloak throws up the warp disruptor field. Then it just has to lock them up and lay into them. What will be really sick is if 3-4 of these ships jump on someone. they wont even see it coming and they will have more then enough ew dps and tank to take down any target. I could even see these being used to great effect against capitals.
