what relay would be cool is to target specific areas of the ship and do damage to it. example: When the shield of your target is gone, you can target specific area's of your targeted ship. Target the propulsion and the damage done there would let your ship move more slowly with increasing damage. Or target the weapon system and damage one or more of his turrets. Or damage one targeting computer, or simply target the hull.
This damage would be hard to deal but could give you an edge in the fight.

Do not think they will do this. As far as I can see they need to redisgn each ship, to make each section targettable - then they need to redesign the UI to view the ships seperate sections. >>> Mine is Bigger than Yours ! <<< |

While the idea sounds neat, the fact that you are suggesting it be possible once shields are down means that armor tanked ships will be a huge disadvantage, seeing as you can immediately do this to them.
To make it fair you'd have to make it only possible once a ship is in hull, and let's face it, you've generally already won the fight at that point unless they are lolman-tanked. Come2Nullsec |

not necessarily. if you are armor tanked it would mean that the module that was targeted is also harder to destroy. The modules of a shield tank would be more vulnerable.
If what you say is true than the armor tanked ship is already in a disadvantage, because you can damage his armor straight a way. I see no difference in the mechanics that is already in place. Only your modules would be targetable and destroyable. |
