The CSM brought up that claimed wormhole systems are very hard to take. This is somewhat true, but if you know what you are doing, it is very possible for a well organized group to take out an entrenched populace. MY big problem is that the solutions the CSM proposed had to do with stabilizing wormholes to let more ships in, and as far as i can tell they just want to make wormholes another nullsec, where 5 or 6 big alliances stomp on everyone else.
the good thing about wormholes is that even a large group can only hold a few WH systems, and allows newer, smaller groups to carve out a little territory of their own, since that is impossible to do in null and pointless to do in lowsec.
anyway, any thoughts and/or counter suggestions to making wormholes more takeable? |

The amount of effort required to take a wormhole is pretty well balanced right now I believe.
If someone has gone to great lengths to build up a 'fortress' in a wormhole driving someone out of that wormhole should not be an easy task but should reflect the amount of work that went into building said fortress.
Wormhole stabilizers is a horrible idea, if ever implemented should not increase wormhole mass more than 100% (that is 6 capitals for a c5/c6) and should take a long time to anchor and be reasonably easy to blow up (from both sides of wormhole!) |

It seems like some ppl just dream about another exodus and another cries from CCP for ppl to return. WHs are balanced just right so don't fix what's not broken. |

Working as intended, it's not that hard to take a wormhole.
Just hire a merc corp and see how they do. |

Well in this particular case, instead of it just being rumored that they are talking about it, it's clear as day in the summit minutes. With both the CSM and CCP saying that its too difficult to assault a WH. And they discuss a module that can serve to make it so the amount of mass going through a WH entrance can be increased to allow a larger fleet through it.
Whether they do anything about it or not is another matter entirely.
Personally, I don't think its something that needs changing. |

We need a new ship.... a highsec capital ship (like jump freighters) that is intended to be used as a makeshift mobile POS for taking over occupied WHs.
I just thought of that now while drinking whiskey. My talents are wasted here. hey CCP! I have an EU passport and I will sit there drinking and thinking **** up for you if you let me be lord of all eve. I need a pink Avatar that shoots ponies that have displeased me.... at players that have displeased me.... |

I have suggested giving players the ability to hold a wormhole open past its life in other threads but allowing people to increase the mass limit would destroy WH pvp in it's current form and allow large groups to dominate in yet another part of eve.
It's no impossible, but it would take a lot of work to take some of the well organised groups out there.

Make Black Ops bridging possible in WH systems. Wormhole J systems are in a structured galaxy of their own so this is theoretically possible.
Usage: Prober alt left in target WH, spread probers out through the known galaxy and the for sale section on the forums in search of J systems within Black Ops jump range of target system. Stage covert fleet in nearby system, with POS's set up for resupply of ships etc, hot drop the shizzle out of the target system, bring in conventional ships via static holes off the target system. Dominate.
Might sound OP but it would require a lot of luck or a large number of probers to get a system close enough to the target system, thereby making wormhole intelligence valuable and creating new industries to supply valuable J systems.
Make Black Ops worth the cost. |

I like that you have to trickle in. Requires Reconnaissance and Organization when taking the Fortress. The biggest obstacle to D-Day was finding a day where the weather was right so the effectively deploy their troops.
My Corp used to sneak in in the dead of night with a Hauler and deploy an ECM Deathstar POS then slowly move our fleet our fleet in. Scanner and Bombers first to Recon the entrances and Bomb any potential Camps then Battleships who would head to the safety of the POS Forceshields. Once we had all our ducks in a row we would Bubble the exits, take out the resistance and start work on the Towers.
We had disadvantages that required precision and tactics to get around. It was like invading a small far off Country, logistics mattered and they had the terrain advantage in the beginning. We had to setup our bases, marshal forces and gather intell to defeat them even if they were a smaller Corporation then ours.
Propping it open for an Abbadon Rush would be quite boring IMO. Make it Nullsec 2.0. |
