What purpose would you use it for ?
- PvE ? L4 ? - Solo PvP ? Let me help you, forget the Cerberus as a solo ganking ship. - Small Gangs ? - Fleet Battles ? - And in PvP : Sniping or Short/Medium range ?

It always amazes me when people train for Tech II ships and don't know how to fit them.
I use the following for lvl 4 missions.
5 x Heavy Missile Launchers II
2 x active hardeners, tech II(Change to match damage) 1 x Large shield extender II 1 x Republic Fleet Shield Boost Amp 1 x Medium Republic Fleet Shield Booster
2 PDU IIs 2 BCS (I use Republic Fleet since they're easiest to fit, I can't remember if 2 Tech IIs fit)
3 x Cap rigs
I can run the booster forever, not that I need to. I know I can probably passive shield tank it and get better results but I wanted something to spend my Loyality points on.

Hia,
I too have been messing with my cerb for the past few weeks. I initially bought it to test it's speed tank potential, since it has a decent speed and is fairly agile. If you slap on 2 poly rigs, 2 OD's II and an Istab II you can get her close to 3km/s. Not great, but at 3km/s a person with maxed out Heavy missiles is only going to hit you for small dmg. Turret's won't track you.
Another solo fit experiment was putting 3 RSD's in the mids instead of the tank + a bit of speed. 1 vs 1 it was pretty good. But tbh, I rarely go solo..
That all said, and after playing around for ages, I think it's best served as a small gang medium\long range missile spewer. Has decent DPS and can field a good tank (has a slight Em hole though)
My fit, IIRC
High
5 HML's with CN Kinetic Missiles
Meds
T2 Magnetic amplifier T2 Inv field Med electrochemical injector (800)'s Large Domination Sheild booster (~20m, same recharge but uses 1/3 less cap as T2) Sensor Booster II
Lows
Damage control II 2 PDU II's 1 BCU II
rigs
Bay loader Calefaction
I got the calefaction rig for cheap. Your best using 2 bay loaders. Rof is arounf 5's with decent skills. All that just about fits. I'm skilling AWU up to 5 soon so I can put on an active EM hardener instead of the amp
Lowest resist will be Em, which is around 74 I think, rest are in the 80's.
As stated, the cerb is no good solo. if you fit tackle, then you have no tank. In small gangs at medium to long range it shines. With a 5's rof you can rain down missiles from afar. The SB and your low sig size mean you lock fast and take low dmg from larger ships.
Overall it's a good ship and you could easily do the same in a small gang with a Drake, but then I like experimenting and that's a bit boring
Tip's
Dont use T2 ammo, apart from precision's (which you should always have in hold for inties). Use faction ammo for everything else.
If you put on 2 launcher rigs, they both have a 5% CPU penalty. So you will need to skill up launcher rigging a bit to combat that. Before I put on the calefaction rig, I had 2 BCU's in lows and it fitted fine and was probably the same, or close, DPs wise.

Agreed no solo in a cerb. Fit it for gangs then sit about 30-50km away slaughtering them with some nice dps while tanking a load of damage.

hi another question, is it a good choice to fit assault launcher to be specialised to kill the smaal stuff with precision light in small gangs? or is the standard heavy the better option to deal also damage to larger targets?

You can probably kill anything apart from ceptors fine using heavies.

I'd go for Heavies everytime. Precision's are good enough to hit most fast ships. They will also scare most inties

This is the fitting i use, good for pvp if you have a inty follow you around to tackle.
H: 5x XT Heavy assault launchers (More DPS then heavy missiles.
M: 1x Medium Shield Booster II 1x Shield Boost Amplifier 1x Medium Electrochemical Cap Booster 1x Photon II 1x Invuln II
L: 3x BCS II 1x Damage Control
Rigs:
1x EM Screen Reinforcer 1x Core Defense Operational Solidifier
This setup works great.
Resists : 73,72,80,83
HAM's put out good DPS.

PVP is too broad to really get a good fitting. Solo, small gang, or fleet? DPS, damage bait, anti support, anti inty, sniper support, ewar support... i'm sure theres more roles it can fill.
Personally my favorite probably would be the anti inty one. Not sure most inty pilots would suspect that their 10km/s isn't fast enough to be safe from a Cerberus (using assault launchers, percision standards, and explosion velocity rigs). Fit either ewar or a buffer tank and fly as support in fleets or small gangs.
