Well last I knew you couldn't nos rats anymore, so curse would only be good for speed and drones, not to sure about a rook either because it probably wouldn't deal the DPS needed to kill most rats, effectively that is. as for tank, your rook may be very good if setup specifically for that. If you are good with missiles I would train Gallent and get into a lach with HAMs the sensor damps work very well and you can stay outside lock range and get a bonus to the sramble range so you can look for about a 40k tackle

This is like the eight time people have asked about recons in the past week.

That.
Seriously. Recons are awful ships for this job.
They're electronic warfare ships, that suffer somewhat in terms of damage output and tank. NPCs tend to outnumber you, and therefore Ewar is less effective. Damage vs. tank translates directly into isks/hour, so recons are a bad choice for this reason too. -- Crane needs more grid 249km locking? GMP and TNP |

Edited by: Aramendel on 10/10/2007 20:50:25 Depends which kind of PvE you are talking about. If its missions: get a drake.
For beltratting technically the curse is the best PvE recon and actually not half bad there. You can push it to around 500 dps with 2 heavy, 2 med and 1 light + 4 HAM2s (+3 BCUs) which is NOT bad at all. And 1 nos is very useful to keep your cap up with NPCs.
Its main problem is that it won't have that great active tank. You pretty much need a faction small shield booster for it, which are expensive. A passive tank with is an option, too, but then you'll do less dps since you will have to fit 3-4 SPR2.
One problem here will be the soon-to-be-introduced drone bandwidth. I strongly doubt that you will stay able to keep the 2 heavies, 2 meds, 1 light combo running with the 75m¦ droneships, so its dps will fall by around 100-150.
