Right i was looking at the base attributes of the vargur on the Singularity and i noticed that it has some major discrepancies to other tech 2 ship upgrades. While it gets a minor boost to its resists and a very minor boost to its hp values it has a significant increase in sig radius and a decrease in scan res as well as ladar strength, no other minmatar tech 2 ship in the game (and i checked) gain sig rad and looses ladar strength and scan res over its tech 1 counterpart, im just wondering what will justify buying one of these ships if they have been made so hard to use along with not increaseing their slot loadout. In addition to this the vargur looses a high slot and has its low and mid slots reversed. Unless we're looking at some really insane bonuses as well as so right scary mods to go in those 3 remaining high slots these ships look like they would loose very badly to a well fitted tech 1 tempest and definitely get their ass handed to them by a fleet tempest. They also dont have half the pg of a normal tempest. Sorry if im sounding negative but if im gonna pay as much for one of these as i would for a fleet tempest and its gonna have less dps, less pg, longer lock times, and be more easily lock jammed i have to stand up and ask whats the point. Unless the requirement for advanced wep upgrades 5 is for you to fit a mini seige mod on. Just wondering about this is all i have no idea if its the same for the other maurauders just no that the minmatar one is like this is all.

Reason to use them? Lets see, they out tank, out dps, out haul and have more free highslots then normal battleships? They're horribly overpowered. -----

The Marauders are being designed to be deep 0.0 ratters and alternative mission running ships. Their main strength is going to be the extra two bonuses (like most T2 ships) and that part of them is still being balanced (notice that there are nothing in ships description yet).
CCP has stated several times that they will NOT make a HAC like battleship .. imagine fleet battles if they did, it would take forever to get anything done.
I am hoping Marauders will be designed along the same line as the revamped Sansha ships .. few guns, high damage bonus .. serves a NPC ship very well I think (cuts ammo consumption and opens up utility slots)

Other way around. They are mission ships, and alternativly 0.0 ratters.
They aren't overpowered, they will cost more than a carrier. ______

Fail.
To quote Ourver, "The home-away-from-home-tech-2-battleship
Their versatility will work for many play styles but we also wanted something which would work for PvE play styles. This doesn't mean they will work well for only mission runners, so there is no need to brand them with the misnomer of the "mission ship"."
