So my buddy did a couple things the other night that I've never seen. First off, he salvaged a ship log from a ship. I've never seen that, but I don't salvage all that much. But this ship log said something very interesting.
This salvaged data from a destroyed Angel vessel reveals the following: "The explosive package that the boss told me to deliver to the Senate seems to have gone off in one of our cargo ships. The hold's contents are now drifting in the void, attracting scavengers of all sorts. To finish the mission, I will have to go to the installation in ******* and pick up a new device. The Senate's new order must be suppressed."
So, it sounds like this is an Exploration thing. The system it mentions is in 0.0, an NPC region. Not too far, and moderately easy to get into. He lacks the Exploration skills/experience, but I don't. Is it worth it for me to fly down there and see what I find? Will I need the log?

As far as I know, those logs are now useless, but used to point to static complexes.

At what point did they do that? Do you know? I'm only asking because if they did, I feel like I missed out on something! How did I miss this over three years?

As in, looted from the can? Or salvaged with a Salvager? Looting logs isn't that rare, salvaging one on the other hand is...

They've been there since the beginning almost! I remember being just as excited when I found one, but it was fairly rubbish complex.
I wish they tied it into the new dynamic complexes, it would make things far more interesting.

After pressing him a bit more, he's pretty sure that it was in the wreck, not actually salvaged. That makes more sense to me.

They should link the ship logs to exploration/hacking and allow them to lead you to an approx location of a tempory complex/site.
