Is there an official CCP stance on this?
I only ask since we run a Bank, and withdraws are the only manual part of the entire enterprise.

I thnk it will take a long time efter ever, that the api interface will support any changes made back to the eve db.
so far its all about READ of data...and not write
but a reply from a dev about it would be nice
do we ever get any "write" to the api interface ?

The API is going to remain read only for now. We've talked about options internally but at this point (and for the foreseeable future) we do not want to allow automation of any in-game actions using the API and out-of-game tools.

As you probably could guess, the only limitation a player run Bank has is the manual part of being a Bank; which is the withdraws.
This issue isn't go to break us, only limit us. If CCP wants to see a large player bank serving a significant portion of the playerbase, then some form of automated isk transfers will have to be implemented.
Hopefully in 12 months from now, EBANK will be successful enough that there could be a more compelling reason to allow this limited automation functionality.

Ever considered talking about a private deal with CCP? It's obvious why CCP wouldn't want API capable of automating in game tasks released to the public, but something private may be a possibility. ------------------------------ ~ AKA Josh ~ - Battleclinic Staff Developer - ------------------------------

I can say this; we'll persue this when the time is right. After we have a few months of operations under our belt and some reports and greater utility I imagine that EBANK and CCP could actually have a conversation about all of this.
Right now it's a bit premature to persue this idea, however much I may like it.

can we get something similar to evemailto:: that we can put on something like an ingame item ordering portal.
allow it to fill in the amount and reason fields. but still need user input. ----------------------------------------------- --- EVE Online, Nowhere to run, Nowhere to Hide---, except apparently in noob corps |
