Ok, have it up and running but the performance is kinda crap.
Dual Core E6600 2 gig Ram Nvidia 7950 GX2 Linky to my card
Newest drivers, settings set to performance.
Run one client on my main screen I get about 100fps.
Run one client on main screen and one on secondary screen I get about 30 fps on both.
If I minimize secondary client my primary gets a boost and goes up to roughly 100 fps.
If I minimize primary client my secondary stays at crappy 30 fps.
Is this the way it is suppose to be?
Thanks

I presume your running them both in wondow mode? As I used to run dual screen and clicking on one screen minimised the other! Never managed to fix this.
If they are windows, check the window of the client is overlapping the other monitor, as even 1 or 2 pixels on the other monitor will pretty much half your frame rate!

Might be wrong but windows XP (if your using that) has no Graphics hardware support thingy majig for 2nd displays.

I dont think the secondary displays support 3d stuff too well - never managed to get it to work on any of my nvidia cards

They are not overlapping, as I saw this happen when I opened my first client.

yeah same as me, tried to run 2 clients over 2 monitors, main monitor fine and happy, as soon as anything even 3d related got 1 pixel onto the 2nd monitor, whole PC shat bricks rolled over and died.
Didn't find a fix for it :(..
1 client full screen spanned over both through was smooth as frack. ---- \0/ CCP SlideShow Games \0/ There is no sence crying over every mistake, You just keep on trying until you run out of Cake!

ok, first things first, gonna just start from scratch here....
you need to run 2 separate instances of eve...just copy/paste your whole eve folder into a new folder, rename it EVE2 and setup a desktop icon pointing at the new copy, also name it EVE2.
secondly, go to Nvidia control panel and set your desktop as "one continuous horizontal desktop" (you ought to have that option with your card)
run both instances in windowed mode. There should be no minimizing or poor fps issues doing it this way, and you'll be surprised at how simple it actually is.

Under graphical options, theres a display adapter tab. There is a second entry for the other screen. If the setting for a running client is wrong, you will see the lag you describe.

ok, did it and I get a boost now. But now it seems that the window that is highlighted gets the biggest boost.
Secondary monitor now gets 120 fps in space, but when I move my cursor back to my main it only gets 60 fps while my secondary goes down to 60 fps, If you know what I mean.

do what i tell you and ask no further questions...it is the proper method.
that way you are utilizing DirectX capabilities, and you will have no fps issues, or overlapping crashes.

Turn v-sync on for both....you dont need 120 fps anyway.

Unless you have dual core then the not higlted version will get less fps. and you don't need to copy eve to another folder - just use the same one.

He may well be right, my Quad Core PC does not suffer the mentioned issues at all.

Edited by: blkmajik on 19/10/2007 22:39:35 i have the same card, and 2 screens, both running 1960x1200. also in xp sp2. 4gb ram. latest release nvidia drivers. works fine, no special settings. i'd assume the rest of your pc sucks.
