Ok, this is going to be a little hard to talk about simply because I think it's hard to put into words.
A little background: I'm 24, living in California. I've been out of high school for almost 6 years now. I've just figured out that I need to go to school. Whats been stopping me is not knowing what I want to do for a career as I have many interests, but nothing that I fully excel at.
That being that, I'm still very early in my college career. I've decided to major in English at the moment, as I really do like to read and write. I am considering teaching, but again, I am unsure. My other interests include History, Criminology, Political Science (including Foreign Affairs), and really just about anything that doesn't include the Sciences or Maths, as that side of my brain has been damaged from alcohol abuse (I'm kidding, I think).
Ok, so the problem. I really would like to spend time outside of California, either in the New England area or Europe. Now, I may love it here in California, the girls are incredible and so is the ocean, but this area (Greater Los Angeles area) just feels skin deep to me. It's almost like theres nothing really here. Hard to explain.
I want to go somewhere where there is history and weather. I want to go somewhere where people are different. Now, I completely understand that every area/country has it's own set of problems. I think I just need a new set of problems.
So, to the point. Does anyone have any ideas on majors that can lead towards a career where working out of the country is a tendency? All I can really come up with is Journalism and some sort of business. The Journalism is certainly a possibility, but Business is not. Does anyone understand what I'm thinking, and have any ideas?
Sorry for the long read. I just love the diversity of this game, and I look to it's players to get a very wide range of opinions and ideas!

No offense, but you want people who know nothing about you to make your life choice?

None taken. But who's says I'm going to do the first thing suggested? I'm simply using this as another resource to gain new ideas to research. One can only think about this stuff alone for so long.

you dont have weather in LA?
only thing I can really think of, if you really dont know what to do take a job test or whatever it is called. see what rolls out and see if you can find yourself in that, see if you can get in touch with people in that profession and ask about what the job is aobut and such then pick your majors acordingly. Failing that, pick the majors that you like(and are good at. good grades on diploma are always nice even if somewhat unrelated to your job) ----- GIEV custom ship paint jobs! I want my hello-kitty-kessie!

Yes, its true that we don't have weather in LA. It's either hot, or hot with fires. Some times we get some fog, and every couple of times a year it rains for half an hour.
About the job test things: I know exactly what you're talking about, but they don't do any good for me as they come back very inconclusive. Although, if anyone has a link to one of these tests, I'd give it another go.
