I never did missions before, but can manage them easy now and need a level 3 locator agent before long as I wanna locate some people.
I'm doing missions for a dude lvl 1 mission in Jita 4-4, Caldair Navy
When will I know when I can "move on" to a level 2 guy, and where this level 2 guy will be?

Edited by: GC13 on 25/10/2007 17:03:50 Every agent has a specific standing required to use them (usually this ends up being the standing of their Corporation to you, increased by running missions for that Corporation's agents), based on their level and quality. You can either calculate this yourself: (Level - 1) * 2.00 + 0.05 * Quality
Or you can just Show Info the agent and it will tell you.
Your agent will never send you packing to a new agent; you'll have to keep your own eyes open for when you qualify for a new agent.

You need to compare your personal standings with that agent's corporation to determine if lvl 3 agents are available. If, for example, your agent is with Federation Navy and your standings with Fed Navy is 5.0, you can easily use every lvl 3 Fed Navy agent...and many lvl 4 Fed Navy agents.

If you do a show info on their corporation it has a tab for their agents and a list of those agents "available to you" (not including Tutorial and Event Agents).
I'd imagine you could just keep checking this and when you gain more status more agents would become "available to you". At least that's how I'd think this would work. I don't have enough status with anyone for that to have happened yet ... or at least not that I've noticed.

Open map. Go to My Agents setting. The systems that have available agents will be colored in green. If you take your mouse over any particular system a message box will pop up with a list of agents that will work with you, the level and department.
Working with an agent you raise you standing with his corporation. Once that standing goes past 1.0 you can work with level 2 agents in same corporation. Corporation standings you can look up through your character sheet. It will take you 50+ level 1 missions to get to level two but there is a shortcut. If you train Connections level 3 you can get low quality level 2 agents (level 4 - mid-quality).

Sobaseki VII has a good Level 1 Caldari Navy agent (1 jump from Jita) Funtanainen IV (I think) has a low quality Level 2 and a high quality Level 2 Caldari Navy agent (2 jumps from Jita) Funtanainen VIII (IIRC) has a low quality Level 3 Caldari Navy agent (2 jumps from Jita) Nourvakaiken (Can't Spell) VII-14 (IIRC) has a good quality Level 3 agent, and the system also has some level 2 and I think level 1 Caldari Navy agents (4? Jumps from Jita). I think this guy is also a locator agent. Kakakela (I'm not sure about the place or the spelling here) has a Level 4 Caldari Navy agent.
All are in high sec space, reasonably near Jita (so cheap shopping), and offer only/mostly combat missions.
If you're not in a player corp and want to join, me and my mates have a small corp set up in that area with good standing with the Caldari Navy, should unlock Level 2 and maybe even 3 agents for you.
EVE-mail me in-game if you're interested. nullnull |

what i norm do is pick a group E.G. Republic fleet, in the people places tab on the left click that, type republic fleet into your box change the left box to corporation , then ok, then when republic fleet comes up, right click show info, click agents tab, then it will show you all the agents and the lvls which are a avlible to yourself

I can confirm that as I use some of those Agents. Most importantly Sobaseki, Funtanainen and Kakakela are all in Lonetrek, different region from Jita. Using any agents in the same constellation as Jita is foolish as they can send you into gridlock lag there. And there are indeed a number of small Corps around, judging by the large amounts of Ammo I sell and Sobaseki's high Empire Wardec kill rating. They seem to enjoy themselves.

Edited by: Falkrich Swifthand on 26/10/2007 13:53:21 Tip: Stick a buy order for the kinds of ammo you use in the station/system most people mission from, and the people who loot different kinds of ammo to what they use will practically give it to you.
Similar deal for guns. Outside of Jita buy and sell prices are often WAY apart. You can make quite a bit by buying (eg) named 125mm railguns on buy order, and selling them on sell order. nullnull |
