Hello there,
I created a gallaente character and was working hard on my missions for awhile to the point where I can get hired by level 2 agents. I moved with my friends and new corp to the Ammatar empire, so I had to start over. So far it is three weeks and I got my faction to 5.9 with the Ammataar fleet republic: Surveillance. But the problem is that no level 2 agent will hire my character. I brought my social to 4 have connections at 2 and diplomacy at 2. Yet no level 2 agents will hire me even from the same corp (mention above). I do not understand how the formula works. I check out various websites and forums to even include evegeek, but I still do not get how to get level 2 Ammataar Fleet republic: Surveillance agents to hire me.
Thank you.
Can somone pl,ease break it down for me step by step in trying to get level 2 agents in another empire.
So if anyone does not mind

If you have level two agents with a Gallente corp, you likely have positive Gallente Federation standing and negative Ammatar Mandate standing. Find a level one Ammatar Fleet (sheesh, the AF is all over Derelik) agent and run a mission for them.
This will give you positive standing with them, which will override (for that corp only) your negative AM standing, allowing your Connections to kick in bringing your effective standing up to 0.8. This won't be enough to use any level two agents yet, but once you get Connections to three or four or grind yourself some level one missions, you'll get there.

It's just Ammatar Fleet, not Ammatar fleet republic.
When you go to your Standings tab on your character sheet, you should see something on the Liked By subtab like "Ammatar Fleet 1.1956 (Connections 2 raises your standing from 0.43" there.
That should be enough for any level two agent with -17 quality or lower. That's enough to use Notena Jodilur in Aranir if lowsec is fine for you. If you want a highsec agent, you'll need to keep grinding and/or raise Connections some more.

train Diplomacy - it works like Connections.
Connections is for friendly agents (those you already have a positive standing with).
Diplomacy does something similar, but improves your standing with agents where you have a negative standing (it won't get you positive, but it will get you talking).
Cheers Falka

Still no luck
I give up, heading back to Gallante space, I brought up my connections to 3 my social to 4 all my other social skills are either 1 or 2. I have been grinding for almsot 3 weeks and still no level 2 missions are being offered. Yes I am concentrating on one particular corp, so no level 2 agents there. Nothing. Heading back to gallente space space. I waste a week on learning skills and missions that got me some isk, but other than that a waste of time.

Edited by: Nihils Astari on 30/10/2007 16:05:18 It took me a long time to figure this out, and you might already know how to do it, but just in case...you can do a show info command for the corp and see a list of all its agents..listed in order of difficulty for which will and won't work with you. It also shows the required standing you need to get tat WILL make them work with you. Just figured I'd toss that out in case you hadn't seen it. I wouldn't expect you to hve that much trouble finding a L2 agent.
Also, if I remember right, Ammatar and Gallente are opposing factions. You might hurt your standings with one by raising standings with the other. Generally, Gallente and Minmatar are loosely allied, while Ammar (including ammatar) and Caldari are loosely allied. Not saying you can't...just saying you might not want to hurt your Gallente standings by serving their enemies...and vice versa.
Training the skills will always help you with agents down the road, so it's never wasted effort, although you might have made more money from your L2 agents.

The trouble with the Ammatar Fleet is the sparse quantity of negative quality level two agents. I think they only had two when I looked yesterday, and they were both in lowsec.
I know that it took a good amount of time me to break in to the Ammatar Fleet, given the negative standing I had with them from blowing them up in a few of my Brutor Tribe missions. Just takes perseverance in that case. Not that I was complaining, mind you: I had a good excuse to fly my Merlin around for a while, so I was happy.

I agree with ye on the spare Ammatar agents neg. rating all low sec. Heading back to Gallente my corp will have to do willout for awhile. Unitl I can get jump clones.
Thank you everyone for your help and patience. Wish ye all well and happy holidays (early but well meant).

Just a word of warning, you might be getting close to breaking into Level II agents with Ammataar. If you do Gellente missions, particularly storylines, you might undo some of that work.
And you haven't wasted any skills. I've got a +6.5 Faction standing with Gallente and -5.2 with Caldari. If I try to fly to Jita (or any Caldari Space), the Caldari police would come after me.....except I trained Diplomacy to Level 4 and they now leave me alone and I can travel anywhere in Empire. All of the other negotiation, connections and other social skills will be equally useful in missions anywhere.
It's hard to waste skills - someone even pointed out a use for Visibility 5 to me the other day, but that's a secret.

if im reading correctly you re waiting on an offer from a level 2 agent ?
it does not work that way . check the corp info of the corp you re doing missions for , agent tabpage . you ll see the list of all agents they have , in several categories . if you open one of those subcategories , you ll see a difference between standing ok and not high enough yet . if you see an agent on that list you have high enough standing with , check that agent info to see where he resides . fly to that place and talk to that agent to start missioning for him.
if you already have a 5.9 standing with that corp you even should be able to get most if not all level 3 agents even, maybe even level 4 s already .
they will not offer you missions , you have to fly to them and talk to them for missions .
i hope this helps
