This is going to sound very odd, but today one of my corporate members contacted me stating that the POS was gone. I actually laughed at this because I thought how could an entire POS go missing? Well I hopped on just now, flew to my normal bookmark, and indeed the POS is gone.
I have no war declarations, the POS is in 0.6 space, and I am the only person with powers to manage it (there are 4 people including me in the corporation alone). How is this possible? Has this ever happened before or am I just going insane? I didn't get anything in my mail about it, in less than 15 hours an entire POS has managed to disappear.
Any ideas? ------------------------------ ~ AKA Josh ~ - Battleclinic Staff Developer - ------------------------------

You havent had any issues with it that required a GM to look at it lately? Either way you'll want to make a petition. Could also be someone had roles to unanchor and stole it all while you slept?
Things to rule out I guess.

I haven't had anything wrong with it, and I did submit a petition. I was the only one with roles to manage the POS, the only roles other members had was for accessing the corporate hangar for storing ORE. Is there anyway of tracking if somehow it was actually stolen? ------------------------------ ~ AKA Josh ~ - Battleclinic Staff Developer - ------------------------------

Edited by: Karanth on 29/10/2007 23:19:36 You could look in member hangers, if they stored it in their hanger in a station you have an office in. If it's in a container, though, all bets are off. Aside from that, no way to audit that, afaik.

Good idea. I actually did find something odd:
Screenie
Sensitive data has been marked out, but as you can see this person has pretty much exactly everything I bought to fuel the POS and it's only been running for about a day. I also checked and somehow this person has roles for managing the POS. I can't find the POS, but they do have a Charon and I almost guarantee it's sitting in there. They probably repackaged it and that's why all the fuel came out. Coincidence? ------------------------------ ~ AKA Josh ~ - Battleclinic Staff Developer - ------------------------------

Generaly the next step is to post or whine about it on the forums, delete as applicable. You don't need to worry about this step though.

Kick the member out... if he undocks before he's left the corp... Pod him... Not much else you can do.... BTW Don't give anyone you don't absolutely trust pos manager role. There is a search where you can see who gave him that role and make sure that it wasn't you that gave him it. BTW director gives all roles so keep that in mind

Well I told him I had to scan his cargo just to make sure. Then I said I couldn't scan near a station and made him fly out to some remote planet. I just scrammed his Charon and am in the process of blowing it up now. Eye for an eye. I'll release his name when I'm done if anyone else wants to take some pod shots. ------------------------------ ~ AKA Josh ~ - Battleclinic Staff Developer - ------------------------------

i laughed, and i am still laughing!
While you are at it, ransom him some, and blow him up anyway! :D no honour in that but there is no honour in corpthefts.
Anyway, way to go for revenge! Good luck in future and choose your corp-mates closely or dont give roles to anyone else to even look at hte POS -----------------------------

He logged and I let him go. I realized he had brought everything he had in the Charon and I have enough respect to let him go. I honestly didn't lose that much, it can easily be replaced. I think he's learned his lesson though.
Oddly he's still denying he took it though. So I sat down and did a little math.
This is rather hard to do since the times are pretty much impossible to know, but I took a guess anyways. If we say that I setup the POS at around Sunday 3AM PST (My time) and he stole it at around 7 AM PST this morning then the estimated amounts of fuel used would be this:
Uranium 28 Oxygen 112 Mechanical Parts 56 Coolant 56 Robotics 28 Oxygen Isotopes 2380 Gallente Charter 28
If we then subtract this from the original amount I bought when I fueled it we get this:
Uranium 308 Oxygen 1232 Mechanical Parts 616 Coolant 616 Robotics 308 Oxygen Isotopes 26180
Obviously I have no idea when he actually stole it. There's literally a 12 hour gap of when he could of took it offline, and I don't know the exact time I set it up either. Given those numbers though most of them are pretty damn close in terms of estimation to the fuel in the screenshot. I find it real damn hard for it to be a coincidence that he just so happened to be carrying around not only that EXACT fuel (for a small gallente POS) but also the amounts of them that match closely to my predictions.
If anyone still feels he's innocent please raise your hand :) ------------------------------ ~ AKA Josh ~ - Battleclinic Staff Developer - ------------------------------

Step 1. Look up AxisXNeo and find his corp name. Step 2. Check all potential recruits to see if that corp name is in their history. Step 3. Check the date he left the corp. Step 4. Make up your own mind as to whether to recruit them. Cheers Falka

You were too soft. You should have killed him. As he was agressed you would have had 15 minutes to kill his freighter and then some more to probe down his pod and pop it also.
When he joins somewhere send his new CEO mail with link to this thread. Thats the usual strategy when dealing with corp thieves.

Thorax with 4 t2 blasters, some mags, and some t2 hammerheads, I had him down at 50% Hull in the first 10 minutes max. That's where I left him at, so he probably paid a pretty nice price to fix that anyways. ------------------------------ ~ AKA Josh ~ - Battleclinic Staff Developer - ------------------------------

I'd have popped him and all of his I'll gotten gains, then got my own hauler out and collected as much as I could to repay the cost of my POS. If you're feeling truly generous, you might have also contacted his previous employers to share the loot.
I admire your restraint, but I think in this case it may not have been the best time to exercise it.

Actually, it wouldn't have cost him very much at all, provided that he had a second account. It'd only have taken 5 minutes with a dedicated repair ship. My research services Spreadsheets: Top speed calculation - Halo Implant stats |

Exactly why I have My rules, Eve=scammer for the most part. I guess its kind of good with all the other games banning scammers they need a home might as well be here ...
These golden rules should help you though most of eve.
#1 Never get warp scrambled #2 Never Get webbed #3 The most important of all the rules TRUST NO ONE , unless you know them in real life and are BIGGER.
The idea here is if someone scams you in such a situation you could go to his house and give him swirly in a toilet till he gave it back..
*Note swirly is holding someone upside down by one leg and putting his or her head in a toilet and flushing it repeatedly*
I do feel for some of you that have no RL friends and thus cant get them to play with you my apologies.

Did you look in the corp management screen to see who gave him the rights to manage the POS?
Corporation Button > Auditing > Set the dates back to when he joined to current date then choose "Member" name.
It'll show you who edited his rights to give him the POS Manager roles. If they were added by someone who wasn't in your corp or something "fishy" you can petition that.
