So, you all might be wondering what this thread is all about. My ways maby wasnt that good but my point was still kieron, to make you see what your doing to your own game and to discuss with the player base not just make it look like your ignoring them.
Long story short, in 2006 around march a gm gave me stuff worth around 220 bill isk.
Short story long goes like this: I was new to eve just some months in the game i still liked it and thought, "hey lets mine to get enough isk for the skills and a dread", and so i did for days and days in a 0.1 system in the bleak lands, until one day i didnt want to do it anymore. At that point i had mined 1,4 mill m3 ore of jaspet and hemorphite and asked my corp mate with good refining skills to refine it for me. The server had some smal problems around that time but nothing to unsual. So he refines it and what happens, the ore went but no minerals came. 10-30 min after that the server had to shut down because of problems, when it came back up several people were missing stuff and things that had been done befor the server restart.
Petition goes in and a 2 weeks wait follows. Then one day i log in to find myself in a convo with my corp mate that refined. I dont remember what he said since it was so long ago but anyway, a gm had responded to the petition and the ore was returned but instead of 1,4 mill m3 ore in total it was 1,4 bill m3 ore. How this gm could have spawned such a huge amount of ore without wondering i dont know. I realy dont know why he spawned that much ore. If i remember right, it was even stated some numbers in the petition on how large the stacks of ore was. Yes there were 6 stacks of ore and i dont remember but i think that every stack had the original amount of ore but 000 added to the end of the stack amount...
Ofc we talked about what to do with all this, with that times numbers i got it to be worth around 220 bill isk, but in the end my friend said "its your call" and i said we keep it. Stupid as i was, even tho it helped my corp mates alot, i gave a huge amount of it away around 120 bill isk worth or so (keeping 90-100 for myself). The minerals (after refined) was slowly moved out of lowsec, transported and sold in jita, rens and amarr in smal to medium amounts.
And that is the story about how 220 bill isk entered the game instead of 400 mill. I realy do not know why the gm did it, maby he was drunk? maby he knew what he was doing? What i do know is that i thank that gm for it if he knew what he was doing, without it i would have left eve a long time ago.
Im bringing this to the light because i tried to tell you kieron what ccp are doing to eve-online. You are slowly killing it, patch by patch, and it seems you have lost touch with the player base, a gm/ccp/isd response to player questions is a rare thing to see and yes we are many but atleast try to awnser them instead of saying "we are monitoring this thread".
In the end everybody will leav eve just because it wont be fun anymore. You killed solo pvping, you created pos siegeing, you cant undo them now its to late.
And kieron, you can take your ban threats and put them where the sun dosnt shine.¦ Look, i told you what it was, you gonna ban me still? Cause it dosnt bother me no more, eve has lost its way and is simply not fun anymore.
I guess your all still wondering what gm gave me this? Well you could say it was fate... GM Fate

why would he get banned? the gm made a mistake, not his fault.
also gms are humans like everyone else, they might just put a 0 to mutch by accident. nothing real big, I think the hole point about this thread is the poor person bringing this out now to get attention.

Elud,
that's probably the most known and well established tale of a GM hickup over the years of EVE, don't tell me it's now going to end up in a ban - after all this time and after all the communications on it?

To clear the point about the banning:
Kieron and i had a "friendly" mail conversation where my methods maby wasnt the best, but my point was to try and show kieron/ccp that they have lost connection to the players and it feels like they are ignoring most (what i feel anyway, even if i dont normaly post on here). In the end kieron stated in a mail that he wanted this information that is posted above and that my response would reflect on my accounts status. Whats even more fun is that they traced me from a unknown hotmail account to my account here on eve-online (not that hard i guess, if the hotmail staff is friendly).

If that's true then what amazes me the most is not that a GM made a mistake but the fact that you shamelessly kept all that ore and sold it.
If CCP has a reason to ban you, it's for being dishonest _________

If this is real: mistakes do happen.
Just as you petition when you are being screwed over by the system, you're also morally obliged to petition when you are being given an unfair advantage (not doing so is exploiting, too). So err, if you've been given an advantage by mistake and now cry about how this is ruining the game, you might want to start looking at yourself first for allowing this to happen.
Oh, and if you wonder how someone could screw up by three orders of magnitude... easy, thats how I made a lot of money: camping the escrow system for stuff people priced incorrectly.

so the GM screwed up and turned 400 mil into 220 bil, all by accidentally giving you 1000x the ore amount. Yay for multiplication! Anyways, with 100bil of extra isk a year ago, your corp is still nameless and hasn't achieved anything? Good job. Also, fail: you don't mine jaspet in a .1.

Hi.
Just a quick note to clear this up:
Back in the day, quantities of some ingame materials such as ammo and ore, were measured in lots, which could make life confusing at times. The GMs picked up on this problem with our tools and it was corrected, but not before a mistake or two had been made. To date, this is the third such mistake I hear about.
So what happened here was a simple mistake made by a GM, nothing more. It was then the players choice not to report it back to us.
