àAnd the patch was created with the actual intention to make a percentage of veteran players leave the game to make room for the newer and upcoming players.
Perhaps there are too many players that have reached capital skill sets with the isk to purchase them causing capital blobs where ships other then caps (vet players) are becoming ineffective causing the newer ôgenerationö to feel left out.
I donĈt know, IĈm grasping at straws here lolà IĈm just trying to make sense of this. In my almost 4 years of playing I have never seen the nerf bat swung so hard and so carelessly.
The loss in ISK and SKILLS with this nerf is equivalent to 10x the loss of any other nerf in eve history.

I wonder if they are going to pull a zulapark on Battleships... i mean battleships are so powerful, they can kill a cruiser in 0.2 seconds... damn solodeathmachines :( ______________________ Just another cool alt. |

OK the amount of tinfoil on this forum is reaching almost overload levels.
Moms need some kind of nerf because a skill level 5 Mothership can deal out thousands of points of damage a second (almost as much as some Dreadnought setups, with Carrier V and Fighters V while tanking thousands more and can only be tackled by a single ship type (soon to be two ship types).
Even with assigning fighters Carriers and Motherships are still great for command platforms, for repairing huge chunks of friendly HP and POS HP, and assigned fighters still kill stuff.
I say all that as a guy who can fly a Dread and could be in a low-skill Thanatos hull in a week. The Carriers need some adjustment. -----

What kind of vet leaves over a propsed change ? I know I'm sticking around to see it implemented before leaving.

You make an excellent point though I have to say when the "just an idea" suddenly appeared fully coded on Sisi I felt betrayed enough to cancel my accounts -though I did give them the benefit of the doubt and thus waited-. I'm still not satisfied with CCP's brushing aside of that as an "accident." [rant]How the hell do you "accidentally" code and implement "just an idea" in two days? I mean....[/rant] I think the vets that canceled there accounts in the hours after that happened -and probably reinstated them after the subsequent pseudo-apology- are those whom he is referring to.
Here's what I'm hoping CCP was/is thinking in regards to carriers: they're very versatile -as well they should be- and thus as accounts get a few years old almost everyone trains for them for one reason or another. Yet, there are only 4 different carriers and despite the tremendous range of roles that carriers end up filling the setups are extremely similar, essentially just a variation on the ratios of the same dozen or so modules appropriate to armor or shield tanking. As years go by and more and more accounts get to 25M SP there will be more and more carrier pilots. In a few years there will be tens of thousands of carrier pilots all flying one of 4 carriers all with very similar setups. This homogenizing of EvE is bad, we want diversity and endless options not the same setup over and over again used with only the slightest variation for such a wide set of roles. Thus it's time for the diversification of carriers. Rather than have them be good at everything -though always surpassed by something in any particular capacity- we'll make it such that the owner has to pick one set of roles but they'll be spectacular at them. We'll open up dozens of ways to specialize your carrier and have it be truly uber at that but you'll have to pick one, you can't have a bit of them all anymore. If you want logistics it will be as good at repping compared to a BS as a logistics cruiser is compared to a normal cruiser. If you want damage as part of a fleet everyone in the fleet can assign there bandwidth to it and it can then launch and control a hundred plus heavy drones using its skills plus a few role specific drone boosts. Perhaps even make it such that each type of Carrier can only be gotten from a faction agent for a substantial amount of ISK and is it's own type of ship. Thus creating several variants of carriers -like BS's have now- and creating an ISK sink to keep inflation in check. Alas this isn't how things came across in their blog but I have hope.... Sig removed. Please keep sigs to 400x120 pixels and 24000 bytes in size or less. -Kaemonn |

Maybe, just maybe, none of this mind boggling head spinning panic-inducing nerfage is actually going to HAPPEN.
