Explorer Atrum Tempestas Foedus	Posted - 2007.11.12 06:19:00 - [1] I just took my myrm out solo'ing, I wtned to get it popped cause I figured it'd be worth nothing come next patch. Well, the lonely drake took out all my drones, I had one left, nad warped to a raven that locked me down. Sure, the myrmidon could do LOTS of damage. But any idiot can sick his small drones ormissles on my drones and kill 85% of my DPS. I learned this lesson today. I also learned that EVRYONE ONE OF YOU STUPID IDIOT NERDS ON THE FORUMS ARE EVE FITTING TOOL NERDs. You morons come up with theoretical fits that can do theoretical DPS, then complain when you see some large 'descrpencies'. Losers. ----------------- Friends Forever Kill. BoB. Dead.

Drones got big disadvantages in PVP and PVE compared to missiles or turrets. - Drones take a long time to get to the target. (PVP and PVE) - Drones tend to aggro whole stages in missions. (PVE) - Drones take a long time to scoop. (PVP and PVE) - Drones can be destroyed, killing the prime weapon of a drone ship. (PVP and PVE) - Drones typically are only usefull for short range (up to 30 km - excpetions are fighters and sentry drones) In order to balance out these disadvantages, drone ships should have higher dps than other ships. But that's CCPs call, it's their game. I can fly both myrmidion and drake, so the upcoming changes won't effect me much.

I'm just doing LvL 4's in it For Combat I'm flying Turret-Ships and use ECM-Drones if there is a Drone-Bay available .

Frankly they are limiting the myrmidon into a sort of direction they want it to go in. The whole idea of having options in the game is what makes it interesting. If I scan a myrmidon after the patch... what is it going to have? tons of hammerhead 2s. Very rarely a mix of 2 heavies, 2 mediums, 1 light. Infact probably the same amount of people using 2 heavies, 2 mediums, 1 light will still be the same amount after the patch. The change will be nobody can use 5 heavies. So they go 5 mediums. The better fix would have been: Say for example you have perfect drone skills and such with the myrmidon. You are doing 475 dps with ogre 2s. While only 238 with hammerhead 2s. HOW ABOUT SIMPLY a new additional bonus to medium drone dps? so instead of just the 50% bonus to medium drone dps. how about 100% bonus? It brings that measly 238 up to roughly 350 with max skills. Not the glaring large dps of ogre 2s but obviously not some crap dps that doesn't cut it. Frankly after the patch the myrmidon will see a massive amount of death and nobody going to buy another to replace it. Just as the person here did. Nobody will touch the myrmidons anymore... just as nobody uses exequror for pvp. It doesn't perform nearly the best so it won't be used. The people using the myrmidon now will likely goto the ishtar or domi. Depending on their piloting skills.
