I can't seem to raise my corporation's standing with Spacelane or the Caldari state. I've run about ten missions and the standing hasn't changed at all.

corporation standing increases at downtime.
not sure on the exact maths but put as simply as i can:
Take your average standing of all the players in your corp for that corp/faction. The increase/decrease at downtime is a %age of the difference between your corp's standings and the player average standing.
So if you have 1 member at 5.0 and one at 2.5 after the first downtime it'll be something like 2.0 if you made a fresh corp before downtime, and then will slowly increase to 2.5
Hope this helps.

How can I raise my corporation's standing?
Corp standing is an average of everyone's standing with the npc corporation - so it is not super easy to change. It also changes much slower than an individual's standing and may take a week or more to adjust to the new average - which by then will have changed again.
If your standings have not changed then maybe cleaning our your 'cache' folder on your hard drive may help. For some reason the client doesn't update properly and cleaning this out causes it to load all new data and will show your current standings. I delete mine roughly once a week.

In your example it would actually continue to increase until you reach 3.75.
I think that the rate of increase is 50% per downtime, but I could be wrong.
If I am right then it would go approx... 1.87 2.81 3.28 3.51 3.63 3.69 ...and so on until you get to 3.75.
One important note: there is a bug regarding your ability to check a corp's standings. The client will cache those standing from the last time you viewed them and will not show changes.
To see what the current standings are, you need to delete the folder C:\Documents and Setting\%username%\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\Eve\Cache\MachoNet
Once you delete that folder, the client will pull down an updated version of the corp's standings. Deleting that folder will not delete any of your preferences, just some cached data that the client will pull down again automaticly.

from my understanding, if you actually view the compositions (corp panel, politics, standings, right click on "liked by") it actually gives you an updated version if it saves people constantly clearing the caches :) I have a really nice signature.
