When will CCP nerf Goonswarm?

They have their own sub-culture and several motivated members. Not that I'm a goon fanboi, but why bother posting this here ? They get enough coverage in CAOD, more than enough IMO. But they came to EVE and after that its only one of 2 things really: 1) They'll be here in 2 years. 2) They'll be gone in 2 years. So that leaves you with 2 options: 1) Get annoyed and fight them, both in game and on the forums. 2) Ignore them (even if it is hard after just being defeated/podded by them). As I see it, they bring a certain aspect to EVE that you either like or you don't. But most of the time their addition to the game can't be ignored. If I remember rightly, GS was the first organization in EVE to complain about the fact that the empire control skill 5 wasn't good enough for them to get all their members into a single alliance. That is over 2500 characters is my memory serves me right. I tend to agree with what people say about their posting in CAOD though, I think that every thread there has a GS post in it, even if they are not even mentioned or indicated by the OP. In that case, it should be considered trolling and at least a warning be sent to the offending poster. If GS goes for one of their famed "Threadnoughts", then the solution is simple, ban all involved from the forums. But banning them from the game for "incorrect" posting on the forums isn't really an option as far a I see it. If that were the case, we wouldn't see Stavros on EVE-TV and he was banned from the forums AGES ago. So just calm down, look and laugh. And if that doesn't work, only click on select threads in CAOD. Will such people be allowed to complete their goals using such dishonorable and underhanded and downright mean tactics. I pray not. In the SA war, even in the CODA war, I have never heard of our adversaries going this low. Again, what has become of honor, even among adversaries? EVE is become a game that is very difficult to play these days. Between being very poor in PVP, being cruely ganged upon by the Goons, RL needs, and to top it off hearing about CCP's decision to give suicide gankers the means and rewards to search for big payoff targets in areas meant to be safe (see my rant in the relevant thread in the general forum) makes my sorrow all the more unbearable. There is not much I can do for my corp or alliance these days, except pray. IMHO, God has delivered FIX many times from the brink since the first SA war. The prayer I posted above 9cg station has been answered. I thank Him for that, and I hope God will answer it now, and defeat those who wish to undermine us so cruelly and thoughtlessly. It is one thing to fight against BOB and allies because of ideals. (they aren't perfect either, and I don't always like the manner they conduct themselves, regardless of recent allegations), but to go this low...It's just unexcusable. I hope we can be lifted up, strengthened in resolve, Christ-like in mutual charity, and fight this. Fight with honor, fight with conviction, and make a good accounting of ourselves amd God willing, rout this foe. I hope I could be a little more like that, and the time available to do that, maybe I could. But it's hard...JAKD and FIX has suffered much these past months, some wounds self inflicted, and they have yet to fully heal. We need to get back on our feet, and stand tall again, even in the face of such darkness. God save FIX.

Of course I don't want to directly compare GoonSwarm to *s. However, GoonSwarm is not as simple as being a member of an ethnic community. Its a group of like minded people from a third part website that choose* to be members of an organization to advance common goals in this MMO. In the past, I've heard it as to believe it out of the mouth of the goonies themselves (go visit the SA forums some time) that this goal (though it has changed a couple of times) was the smashing of the EvE community and material harm to CCP. So, like the **s, because you aren't born a ** you choose to be one, just like you aren't born a goonie, you choose to be one, GoonSwarm represents an organization around a CHOSEN set of goals. As for GoonSwarm not being hierarchical, give me a break. I suppose the alliance has just challenged the strongest 0.0 alliance while claiming large swaths of 0.0 space purely by accident. It was all blind chance. Every victory they've had, every PoS they put up completely random. In fact, I'm sure that Goonies just hit random keys while logged into eve but somehow manage to fly/fight/post together while playing this game. -Karlemgne
