As far as I know this is not possible anymore. Today you can only make SS between system entitys.
Lucky me I still have some of those in some chock points :D

This is how we did it back in the days. Might be fixed, but cannot tell for sure...
Go to system of choice. Dock your ship at a station (if available) or random safespot (in that case, bookmark the spot). If you are at SS, eject from ship. If you docked your ship, you should be outside the station in a pod (approach station with Docking command, click eject, wait with confirming til you get Docking request accepted, then click OK). Open map. Select system you are in and Warp To.
This, back in the days, would set you on a near-infinite warp, as the pod can warp extremely long distances on its capacitor. You would end up way outside of scanning range.... Back then, that is

Edited by: Sleepkevert on 14/11/2007 21:06:07 Get a capital ship with cloack, Release a fighter, let it engage someone, and let that person warp away. Then if the fighter is in mid warp, cloak. This should throw the figher at a random spot somewhere in the system.
Probe the damn thing down to get it back, and voilla, instant far, far away safespot.
Also, yes this happened on accident a while ago. Not sure if it should be an exploit or not... _______

You forgot to mention that you need orbit your ship at 3m while crying like a chicken in local to make this work :D

You can't probe sagespots more than 100au away from the next celestial.

Well first you get an interceptor or something similarly fast. You get online right after downtime. You warp to some outer planet. The one furthest from anything. You than start flying as fast as you can in the even further out reaches. When downtime comes upon you. Bookmark and repeat for the next week.
I suspect you could get pretty far in a week.

the fastest inty you could get would not touch 0.10AU in a week. At 100 km/s you would not go very far, celestially speaking, in a month of this. http://www.voogru.com/images/signature/farmers.jpg |

Edited by: Meiyang Lee on 14/11/2007 21:33:43 lets assume you have a 10 kps inty (quite doable), flying for a week. (-7 hours of downtime) that will give you (3600s/hour * 23h/day * 7 days * 10 kps) 5,796,000 kilometres or about 0.04 AU, not exactly out of range of a probe now is it, even if you kept that up for a year you'd only be 2 AU or so out from where you started. That's not a good way to make a safespot.

Observator has 1000au listed range not 100au and I have heard reports that it will find safes more than 1000au at as well. Don't have any such spot myself so I can't test that but I can say for sure it has more than 100 au range. ---------------------------------------- A Guide to Scan Probing in Revelations |

Some ppl haven't been scanning lately, it seems. You cannot create deepsafes anymore and the ones existing don't work anymore since the observator scans 999AU as said and therefore just cosmetic "LOOK MA', 600AU WARP!".
Unfortunately, your signature is not 22239 bytes, it exceeds the 24000 byte limit allowed on the forums. -Darth Patches I fail, regards to Cortes - Ulvi |
