I am looking at buying this
and I have been informed by a fellow corp mate that Eve won't run on it due to the GC not supporting 'Hardware Transform and Lighting',
obviously Eve is not the sole reason for buying a new laptop... but it will influence the decision,
Help Please

hehe Hey Def,
Cheers for the Replys
the reason for this purchase is that I want a laptop and not a desktop replacement, I already have a dual core, dual GC, water cooled yada yada PC, and my idea of a laptop is something small and portable. Most 'laptops' are huge with only a couple of hours battery life, the sony ones have 7 hours 'apparently', 14 with the extended battery, and they are tiny
back on topic, I have just dropped into the local Sony Shop and talked to the manager, he recons that it should run Eve (possibly not brilliantly bt I really only want to be able to change skills/chat when AFK)
He then added that it wouldn't run WoW (awww shucks) but if I got Eve on a disc I could bring it in and load it up, log on and have a play around...

It will probably run eve "classic, though with the trinity overhaul the new shiny graphics require shader model 3. not sure if a software-type solution will work.
bottom of this blog Linkage has a program that can check the system.
Will give you a basic yes/no for running the new stuff.
Mine wont.. :(

You can login, stay docked, and mess with the market and stuff, I guess. You're going to get horrible (unplayable) framerate anywhere else with integrated graphics. --- Proud Amarr pilot.

Cheers for the replys
it runs,
the Frame rate isn't brilliant, but I can fly between systems
it is a lovely little laptop, the screen is amazing
I can do most things on it - I wouldn't want to PvP on it or fly to Jita tho...
I realise that I won't be able to use the new graphics update on it, that is what my desktop is there for
*edited OP to include the Model number so ppl in future can see if eve will work*
