As we all know, invention when it comes to ships is a chancy subject so say the least. Im not gonna complain about that because ccp whanted to keep t2 ships at a certain lowest prize so its all good. What I am thinking about is the modules used to the EWar frigs. Some of them are based on a t1 hull that has a t2 equivalent already while others are not. A bit unfair if you ask me. Lets assume we have 100% success rate on our invention for the numbers below:
Caldari: Griffin has 1 t2 module. So 100% chance of a kitsone. Gallante: Maulus has 2 t2 modules so 50% chance of a keres Minmatar: Vigil has 2 t2 modules so 50% chance of a hyena amarr: Crucifier has 2 t2 modules so 50% chance of a sentinel
Here's my suggestion: Change the hulls accordingly: Gallante: Navitas = helios Minmatar: Probe = cheetah Amarr: Tormentor = sentinel
At least the minmatar was something that should have been done when covert ops was first introduced. The vigil has no bonuses what so ever to suggest a further development as a covert ops while the probe certainly have. Whereas the navitas and tormentor are mining frigs so... who cares? ORE produces t2 mining ships, the empires dont.

With Trinity there will be the option to choose what you want to invent, so don't worry.

This new invention will be a disaster. Why would anyone invent a raptor. It will inflate the prices of certain ships and make it so that both t2 variants will either cost the same,if both are just as good, but different, and make some variants simply unavailable. For instance,I like the raptor. Its cheaper than the crow and does the job just about as well. The disadvantage is that it doesn't carry the same firepower. Thats ok,the raptor fills a niche. Its redeeming feature is that its cheap. Now they might as well eliminate it from the game as no more raptors will be made. I don't mean few will be made,or they will be more expensive, they just wont be made at all.

Things that are not profitable for invention are currently supplied via T2 BPO sources. |

Considering that the Raptor gets the warp scrambler/disruptor range bonus with Trinity and not the Crow I totally fail to see why noone would invent Raptors. -- [17:47] <Mephysto> its dead, jim |
