I must say that what zombie Inc did took some B@lls, tanking concord and the sentries isnt that easy. Just remember they did have their reasons for it, and Im sure it wasnt all for the fun of it. I can bet you anything they had a motive that had something to do with CCP not listening to em, or something along those lines. Anyway they deserve a suspension at the most, not A COMPLETE ban. Maybe on probation or something like that.

Edited by: Vita Grando'II on 04/03/2004 16:08:04 How hard is it for you people? It's a game. And it has it flaws yes. But the GM's are there to be the watchdogs so we all have fun. Veterans or n00bs. So if the GM says don't do it it is not supposed to be like that in the game then don't. What is the point of doing it anyway. I already knew that it was possible, everybody knows, it ain't difficult.
But respecting the game and it's GMs is for some if I look at all this.
RESPECT guys, respect is the word! --

How exactly does this take balls?
all it takes is numbers (of people) and an understanding of how modules work. They were probably afk while doing it it took so much balls.

If the perpetrators of the Yulai fiasco (can't believe you would call it a 'war' ) felt they were not being heard by GM's then they should have asked why. Deal with things using the procedures set in place, ie send a petition like anyone else has to, we all have the same access to the finite GM support on Eve.
I find the acts in Yulai highlighted one thing above all others, and that is that there are certain elements who think they are 'special' and need to be heard over and above everyone else. If they felt they were highlighting an issue that needed resolving to benefit the community as a whole, then using tactics that negatively affect the same community is really counter productive and short sighted.
If you have a point to make there are many many ways of getting your message across that don't include such senseless and childish behaviour. At the end of the day people need to realise this is not our game it belongs to CCP, and wether we like it or not they are the ones who say what goes not us. If we don't like it we can try and reason with them and get them to change, or we can leave, there is no third option.
Saying it took balls to act like that could very well be correct, because it clearly wasn't an act inspired by brains.
Khabs am pehkt...........seize the stars.

People allready thought of this months ago. Only reason we didnt do it then was that it is an exploit.
Now why didn't Zombie inc just go to a 0.7 or 0.8 to do this ? They probably wouldn't have been banned then.
Nooo, the just had to do it in the number 1 highway system ingame.
I expect they knew that ban would be coming and being bored just thought, "let's all go out with a bang".

If I wouldn't get banned I'd have enough balls to do it in a 1.0, which is what this is about.

I just looked at the list of banable offenses and found that these 2 are the ones that apply the most :
"Investigation shows that a player has employed the use of an exploit tactic despite a public announcement being made to alert players they will be banned for using it" Correct me if I'm wrong, but there was no public announcement saying that the use of shield transporters in order to tank sentry guns was an exploit (I MAY WELL BE WRONG HERE....)
e. A player renders himself invulnerable through the use of a bug. I dont see how the clever use of shield transporters is a bug, its just a clever use of modules. The shield transporters were not acting up, were not faulty, in my opinion they were working EXACTLY how they were designed.
I for one am sad to see that zombies got a full ban, I can see that they deserve a suspension but a ban is pretty steep considering that as far as I can see it was no explpoit. (under current rules....rules that need to be updated after yesterday)
Zombies are in my opinion one of the best PVP corps within the game & its not going to be the same without them (I know I have had my ass handed to me on a plate a number of times & I consider myself to be "better than average"..a lot of people will say the same)
free zombies now CCP!

Exploiting is listed as bannable, and defined as:
Quote: Pray tell, what is an exploit then?
An exploit is when someone deliberately bypasses the normal game mechanics, by utilizing a bug, a weakness in the system or any other possible loophole in order to personally gain from it, and/or by intentionally use said means to take advantage of other players.

Never argue with idiots. They will just drag it down to their level, and then beat you through experience. |

These souls have shown cowardice and ignorance only. Not honor, not cleverness and certainly not "balls".
Where the event may have been entertaining for some, you can be sure it wasn't for others. And past that, CCP must have some bite with that bark, otherwise what is the point? ------

There is no pirate version of Yulai. Moron.
Although I must say some pirates are not much smarter than the police drones, they are still a wee bit smarter than NPCs. ------------------------------------------- "My main griveance with the Caldari state was that once I had finished my work for them, they wanted me dead."

The exploit wasn't in using shield transfer modules, it was in the fact that the support ships were not targetted by Concord for helping the attacker, that is a known flaw in Concord's AI, hence a bug, and as a result an exploit, simple as that.

i dissagree in a certain aspect ... what they did took balls yes, but they didnt just attack concorde, they didnt just cause chaos in the yulai system (a lil chaos is good aint it?) ... they decided to attack new players with no sort of game experience who thought they were in relative safety. its a 1.0 system -supposed to be a refuge for the weak. but the fact that this is a greatly pvp game does make the ban from the game seemc a little harsh. id say some sort of probation like odet suggested sounds about right.
