alright, this is response to that idiotic "CCP hates disabled pplz!!!111oneone" thread.
Like the OP's friend i to am colour blind, but its not the end of the world, it doesnt make the game unplayable, but theres a few VERY EASY fixes that could make it so much easier for people who have trouble with colour to play (which happens to be alot of people, over 10%). I resent people referring to it as a "disability" too, since i'm not DISABLED having a bit of trouble with colours, its not like i dont have legs or somn. It's more of an annoyance that i've learned to work around and don't really notice much. The outside world is built to help us out anyways, since nothing really requires soley on colours, being differentiated by something else as well (traffic lights by position, signs by shape, crayons have labels, other signs are often colour and number coordinated). Plus it's not all colours, only certain similar colours most colourblind people have problems with
here's a few suggestions that would probably make it easier for EVERYBODY, not just colourblind people
1)activated modules: like cmon that little tiny halo around the module? whats that. i used to do fine with this when the whole bloody icon was red/green, but now its such a tiny little ring its tough to see. make the whole icon go SOLID green if active, FLASHY red if unactive.
2) war targets : the green (in your corp) icon looks alot like the red war target icon on the overview. If the symbol was a little more overt, or there were more options for making more customizations to the overview this would be easier. i just make sure that everybody in my corp in system is in my gang, but this isn't always possible.
3) it's hard to notice the difference between when someone has locked you, and when someone has aggressed you on the overview. maybe if instead of a tiny little red box, the locked icon itself maybe changed to flashy red. i meean its not like you ever see someone shooting you who DOESNT have you locked.
so to all the trolls out there, no its not CCP's fault i have trouble with colours, but seriously how hard is it to accomodate for that? its not as if they need to spend hojillions doing audio-prompts for blind people. i'm talking about, these are just subtle little visual cues that are aLOT more subtle for some than others, that could be made a little more clear.
