As many might know it's merely impossible to catch a small sized ship at a gate in an empire-war... The exact mechanics don't need to be discussed here, but any larger corp/alliance that has been decc'ed by a smaller force know it well:)
This results in huge station-camps that not only are silly, but severely disrupt gameplay for non-involved parties (i.e. mission runners docking/undocking into a blob)...
A simple (well maybe not that simple) solution for this would be a "smart-bubble" that would only affect war-targets at gates in empire space...
This would make empire-warfare alot more viable and give the bigger corps/alliances the means to protect their people in a "isolated area" to conduct their daily business, while the gates are protected by the military forces effectively... As it stands now, there is absolutely no way to keep nano-cruisers from jumping in, deploying 5 drones to kill a miner/hauler and happily warp away again (or at least it takes stupidly extensive logistics to do so) Just my thoughts...

I have to disagree with this as it is yet another enforcement of the blob and the all-or-nothing mentality.
It's an intresting idea though, to have smarter weapons that only touch war or criminal flaged players. Such a function could allow the use of ECM burst, "smart" bombs, AOE torps, etc. The bubble though ... I just have to disagree with it on philisophical grounds, for the reasons mentioned above. -AS

It's a good idea, but the reason i stay out of 0.0 is bubbles and blobs..I'd hate to see that come to empire...
no i don't fly fast ships -sig-
Support the introduction of Blaze M crystals for Amarr! (Or make Amarr the only race able to deal EM damage from turrets).

War is a formal declaration of hostilities. A corp involved in a war has been given FAIR WARNING that others intend to do them harm. Miners and haulers that continue to run unescorted/unprotected/untanked clearly do not understand "I mean to kill you" and really don't contribute much to the gene pool.
A corp at war who sets traps for the troublesome 'nano-cruiser', or whatever ails them, and protects their investments is of more value to the gene pool than those who die by the score and never learn.
The tools are already in the game. Learn to use them before begging for an Easy Button.
Here's a tip for ya: A Hulk can fit a scrambler and a web and still tank for a little while...perhaps long enough for something to declo-....I'll let you figure the rest out. _______________________________

Correct

... Correct
the tools are there to deal with this, and if people really cant figure it out, then run and hide tactics actually work pretty well against some enemies. Or hire Mercs to figure it out for you.
I do like he idea of having smart weapons though, But in a different way.

I'm afraid you are missing the point here folks...
All you say above is correct, but there is no means of catching a nano at a gate...THAT's the point...
and it's not "working as intended", it's a glitch... so technically speaking, people using nanoships in a war to avoid getting caught by a supperior enemy are exploiting :P
All i was suggesting is to work around that since it's probably easier to code a smart-bubble than to fix the gate glitch:P
And as far as blobs are concerned....it doesn't change a thing with blobs, rather reduces blob warfare since you won't need to resort to station camping (only place u stand a slight chance of catching a nanoship)
Keep in mind that in most cases the empire wars nowdays are rarely even sized gangs/fleets fighting it out... I do realize most of you guys don't like the idea of the free "i win" travel in empire beeing taken away from you, but face it, this is not the way it should be... if a interceptor boosted up to 5500 resolution can't get a lock on a cruiser at a gate, we need something else that can stop it and btw, yes i have killed a wolf in my battlehulk and it's funny! (but not the point here)

Let me correct some of your statements :
Quote: and it's not "working as intended", it's a glitch... so technically speaking, people using nanoships in a war to avoid getting caught by a supperior enemy are being clever :P
All i was suggesting is to work around that since it's probably easier for me to have the I win smart-bubble than to look smart ennemies fly away and start shouting at the world being unjust:P
Station camping just make me laugh, sorry. Wars in empire are designed so that you will disrupt industrial activity and not kill any pod that goes through a gate. -- Pocket drone carriers (tm) enthousiast !

you can catch a nano on a gate. You just have to figure out how, and you dont need bubbles to do it. So yes, in high and low sec, you can catch nanos on a gate, and easier if their comming out of a station. Its just very hard to do. But its not un-balanced.
I cant believe im defending nanos here, i hate them. But thats probably because i cant fly a good one.
