The news of the past few days have yet again reaffirmed my pride to call myself a firm supporter of your excellent organization. Astropolitan Front would like to congratulate you in this open letter on your recent successes, both on apprehending the terrorists hiding in the School of Conscious Thought, on unraveling the sinister forces funding Itsukame Innovations, and on all your daily struggles and victories which never make the headlines of intergalactic news.
For sa***uarding the lives of Astropolites all around the cluster, we salute you!
For bringing the people of this cluster closer together, we salute you!
For paving the way for peace, order, stability and prosperity, we salute you!
For standing firm against the threats from outside which would throw us into chaos, and the threats from below which would split and divide us, we salute you!
For shouldering the responsibility for the future of our youth, we salute you!
Astropolites, salute!

It seems CONCORD is overstepping their jurisdiction more and more often. I'm predicting an increasing number of angry responses to threads like these. Don't be surprised.

Concord is being accused of Violating the State's Sovereignty when it comes to researching new Technologies. Not a small accusation.
I hope the Nations of Eve revoke funding for Concord and confiscate there Military and Financial assets.

Keep it up CONCORD! Well done! About time you started working off all those pastries. I am most impressed and looking forward to continued operations.
As far as the State, just tell them that you are leaving if they keep crying. You will find a shift in mood almost immediately.

Talk about pretence.
Concord finds out that a small compan working on new military hardware gets a large number of investors and get suspicious that they have many investors? Often investors will flock to a small company when they find out about a great potential in said corperation.
Then when they find out that a FEW of the investors have criminal connections so they freeze and acquire all that corperations assets, research, and compiled data to "prevent tampering."
Should the RSS decide to investigate another organization I sincerly doubt they would storm their facilities and take control with a contingent of matar marines.
This sounds like an excuse to me. Have they mentioned what a consequence would be? Would they simply confiscate everything to be redistrubeted as Concord sees fit? Would they revoke the petition for patenting and keep the results for themselves?
Are we led to believe that they would simply lock the information away and not think about it? They would release the results of that hard work to the public for anyone to use?
What possible reason could they have not to allow this to continue? If they Angel cartel TRULY is involved... then they probably have the results of that entire project for their own use. Refusing the patent would do nothing but hinder the clusters military advancement while the Angels gain another advantage.
Then there is the matter that it wasn't concords job to even take those actions.
In any case, all I see is a corrupt organization from what they are telling us, I hate to imagine what they will be hiding.

It would be wise to dissolve Concord now, before they start dictating other aspects of Domestic Policy to everyone. I suspect, in time. Concord will meet the fate of Sansha's Nation, in the same fashion.

CONCORD does so much for us. I support them, and wish that they had agents available to the public so we could help them keep the cluster safe. Considering the rules they follow, and the difficulty involved, I doubt it will happen, but I can wish.

I have usually been a firm supporter of CONCORD, and these recent events have certainly reaffirmed my trust in their admirably pitiless efficiency. Still, they have also left me worried that the organization is gradually forgetting the realities of its position. It does not operate on the basis of some Mandate of Heaven, it operates on the assent of the four Empires. Should CONCORD decide to flout the cease and desist order that CEP is apparently in the process of filing, it ignores this. I sincerely hope that CONCORD is wise enough to understand that it violates the sovereignty of its hosts, and ultimately masters, at its own peril. Caldari Navy and corporate security forces could do their job perfectly well, and I trust that the same is true of other Empires too.

Whilst there are issues with Concord at the moment, in principle I support them. What kind of evils would we face on a daily basis if we did not have a Police force like Concord to protect innocents of every Empire? Its much better to have an independent force acting for the benefit of all, than a sponsored force only mindful of the few. And I have to question the motives of those who are asking for it's disbandment... That which does not kill us makes us stronger. Edited by: Tahti Gaikoukan on 23/11/2007 20:15:51 Gordon-haani, If the Lai Dai Corporation or any of its subsidiaries had a direct conflict with another Caldari corporation then we would work through the CBT. The concern is that Concord and its sub organizations will not recognize the authority CBT in this matter as they have already violated the sovereignty of both the State and a Caldari corporation.

I dare not say, 'salute CONCORD'. An organization that is good at patrolling gates while, sitting passive to those around them and allowing for unjust wars and conflicts between corporations dare not be saluted! Protect the innocent! Keep the criminals in line! CONCORD need think again before they pat themselves on the back, thinking they do us a service . . . Enforcers of peace and justice? I think not!

They have a tough job. True, some things could be better, but considering the fact they are trying to police SPACE - they are improving the situation considerably compared to if CONCORD did not exist.
I would not like to discuss CONCORD politics, but I salute all the crew members and NCO's of CONCORD ships. --- Beneath all of our differences there's a single bond between every living Gallentean that makes us hard as diamond: a love of freedom. |
