I would like to be able to employ an R&D agent for each faction. I have a few questions regarding this:
1. By training Diplomacy to a high enough level will I be able to get positive faction standing for all 4 factions? I think I've seen a post saying that with lvl 5 you could get a +1.0 standing with all 4. If that is correct, is that enough standing?
2. Assuming that question 1 is correct, and I begin to run missions and storylines for say a Caldari R&D corp, will my Diplomacy offset the negative standing decrease I would get for Gallente?
3. If this all works, would I be able to employ a lvl 4 R&D from each faction? Barring that I have the skills and the standings? Or will I only be able to get a lvl 1 maybe lvl 2 because of the whole increase - decrease circle?
4. If I've confused anyone I'll try asking in a different way.
Thanks in advance

Thanks for the information. I know about Connections and Diplomacy only raising negative. Forgot to add the Connection part to my post.
I was wanting R&D agents for each faction to give me a broader range of data cores. I will be selling these at first for ISK to fund my invention efforts, afterwards they will all be going to invention. I don't want to gimp myself with only be able to do invention with on faction.
Do the same type of data cores, eg. Gallente starship ones and Caldari starship ones, go for the same price? Could I just use Gallente R&D agents, and sell their data cores for the same Caldari ones? Basically just trading them through buy and sell orders?

Thanks for all the replies.
I'll be running courier missions, so I won't have to worry about combat with other faction ships.
One last question, if I may: 16 mission for X Corp, you get a storyline mission for Y Corp. What determines which corp gives you the storyline? Is it completely random? Is there anything I can do to help out on which corp gives me a storyline mission?

Thank you for that.
So if I can find a storyline agent close to an agent that I want to work for, in a way I can pick where my storylines come from. Although I'm sure it probably won't work out the way I want it to all the time, but now I know and I can be on the look out for it.
Thanks again to all that responded
