If you haven't seen Eve Tv, shame on you! , it's been free for about 9 episodes now and really is filled with good information, great laughs and the hosts Spiral and Stevie do a great job getting the day started. Recently the show has been "put on ice" as they call it possibly due to budget reasons or some others that I don't know of. I think that Eve Tv really adds a whole new dimension to this game, and is really innovative and could help CCP's players stay around longer, help newbies feel a lot more immersed in this world, and I am sure it's made the alliance pvp tourney a lot more popular. It is assumed that Eve Tv will return in Feb. for the 5th alliance pvp tourney but as such can happen in gaming worlds things are soon forgotten and can fall by the wayside. I don't know the ins and outs of CCP's involvment with Eve Tv but I'm sure just a tiny bit of their budget would go a long way to support a bit of Eve that a lot of people love. SO! Just post here showing your support, petition in game to annoy people (waits for the banhammer ), get a cargohold full of exotic dancers/homeless whatever and hold them hostage claiming to kill 1 each day that Eve Tv is off the air and maybe CCP will realise Eve Tv can be a great asset to their game, help the show and realise it would be a much better project to support than Eve Voice Oh and btw if you don't know what Eve Tv check it out at http://eve-online.tv/default.aspx its free to watch and enjoy!

I would imagine, EveTV could exist for tounries etc.
However the visual element is not needed for most of the rest of the time.
Its just two talking heads most of the time.
Podcasts are a better format for that.
Fraction of the cost.

I have watched Eve Tv since it's been free and it's pretty good. They did say being free was an experiment and if they have stopped then perhaps the new business model didn't work. I assume they were using affiliates for income and no bugger has been clicking on the ad links (myself included).
If Eve TV is about to fold then perhaps CCP should stop trying to freeload off its fan base and employ Eve TV. If they don't then fine. But if they had any sense they would make a point of having a TV station to people at the BBC technology news guys and such. It can only raise the profile of eve
The BBC really likes storys about things like that, but this will fall on deaf ears.
Anyways Eve TV guys and girls. Good work, I enjoyed your broadcasts and hope it's not the end of it.

I have to admit EVE-TV is something I have not watched very much. Just the tournaments. I hate streaming TVs! If EVE-TV wants me as a frequent visitor they should make their programs downloadable... Sad really, because their programs are top-notch.

Sorry to say this, but no it isnt.
The EVE TV team is back in Febuary for PvP tournaments, but not for real episodes, those have been put on indefinate hold.

Sorry, but I totally disagree with you.
WDA is not an official CCP product and it never will be. In no way, shape or form are we "showing CCP the way".
We make WDA simply because we enjoy doing it. Both of us do realize that it is a very self centered show though. ItĘs great that people seem to like it of course, but letĘs not get too carried away here. It will not translate into a replacement for EVETV.
EVETV is an official service for the community created by people passionate about the game, who have put their heart and soul into creating something unique and ground breaking. IMHO they did a pretty damn good job and they should feel very proud with what they accomplished.
I feel the community is loosing something with its cancellation.
I can also tell you from personal experience that an audio podcast is about a million times easier to make than a TV show.
Personally I'm looking forward to EVETV's coverage of the tournament in February and I hope to see the weekly shows back at the same time.

Eve needs a Wiki more than EveTV.
The #1 problem for new players (and even players who has been away for a while) is finding out how the game works, and getting good advice on how to play it.
Just looking at my own situation right now... Ive been away for a couple of months, and everything seems to have changed. I guess going through the myriad of posts in the Eve Info Channel is one way to try and get up to date, but it would be a lot better with a wiki, listing whats planned for the next patch and links to the posts talking about it.

Eve can do without EveTV but I believe they are losing a lot of players simply because of the bad documentation.
Yes the EVE-TV crew should get back to work on the wiki immediately. -

Sorry, but I totally disagree with you.
I am saying blinky and urban podcasts are a fraction of the cost of a TV episode. At least I hope they are unless you are including the bar bill.
A podcast is way cheaper and easier to do than a TV show. Most of the TV show is two people talking.
I think EVETV made an effort at an interactive map which was trying to show the history of the war by moving markers about.
It would have maybe worked if they had made all the markers they needed, remembered to move the markers when they should have been moved, agreed on the sequence of events and actually both been talking about the same timeframe at the same time.
That is almost the only time I can think of when EveTV news coverage actually needed a visual element and it was a shambles.
A podcast would allow EVETV to continue to do its great work and give the community the coverage it does now at a fraction of the cost.
Reality is, its that or nothing. -

Maybe that's why yours is enjoyable and EveTV wasn't.
Sorry Urb but I agree with the guy you disagree with, your self centred approach coupled with a laid back style are what make your show/podcast fun, something lacking in the other. Lets not leave charisma out of this either, you both have bucket loads and don't hold back for fear of looking silly (I guess that should be sounding silly).
I personaly agree that you have shown the way forward and pray that you never become official either. Its all supposed to be fan based, you are, they lost it somewhere or never had it in the first place.
