Due to incompatibilities between the current TQ builds and the builds now on Singularity, running the latest test builds will result in your TQ cache being corrupted. In order to get things running properly again on TQ, you will need to delete the cache.
To avoid this, please do the following on the client you are using to connect to Singularity:
- Create a shortcut to the eve.exe file.
- Open the properties of the shortcut.
- In the target box, add the following to the end of the line (capitalisation is important): /end /LUA:OFF
- Ok the change, and use this shortcut for starting Singularity. This will cause a cache directory to be created in the same folder you are running from, rather than using the same cache directory as your TQ client.

also Please make sure your SiSi (Test) install is not in a protected directory (like me >.<)
these folders are:
C:\Windows C:\Program Files *insert more here*
This may or may not be Vista-Only.

Question: If I have LUA:OFF on my TQ clients, but not on the SISI client, will everything be ok?

Yes. This way round is fine. As long as one of the 2 clients has it the cache directory will not be shared.

Personally I think this should be default, I preferred it when my seperate clients didn't interfere with each other.

Please add a number 5 to your list: Using the "Lanch EVE" button on the patcher will result the SISI client to start without the /end /LUA:OFF switch. At least this was the case when I last hit the button on accident.
Same happens on TQ as well if I remember correctly.

Uhm. Is this "end/LUA:OFF" stacking penalized to the "end /server:87.237.38.50"-thing? Or can I just ad more and more "end/"s to it? Im not gonna try now since I dont wanna break this fragile balance of little tweaks you need to do to play on SiSSy.

You don't need two /end entries, just one /end, then all the commands you need after it, separated by spaces:
/end /LUA:OFF /server:87.237.38.50 ------- There is no magic Wand of Fixing, and it is not powered by forum whines. |

In my enthusiasm to get this I borked my TQ client also. I fixed it by following the instructions found here.
Worked for me anyways...

Edited by: Wacoede on 27/11/2007 21:11:23 i've found deleting the user__.dat file in the C:\Documents and Settings\%Username%\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE\settings folder to be just as effective and you don't lose any other data ____________________________________________

Ok, maybe I'm just being a dumbass but I've tried like thirty ways of adding this to the end of the target line of the shortcut and keep getting the same message that the name specified in the target box is not valid and to make sure both the path and filename are correct.
For me this is what it looks likeL
J:\Program Files\CCP\eve test\eve.exe
Now how do I apply the end part? The following throws the same error message.
J:\Program Files\CCP\eve test\eve.exe/end /LUA:OFF
So can someone enlighten me here?

Edited by: Wired on 27/11/2007 23:51:26 Edited by: Wired on 27/11/2007 23:48:47 Something has gone majorly wrong with mine.
I have 3 folders
C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE2 C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE-Test
My eve-test exe looks like this: "C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE-Test\eve.exe" /end /LUA:OFF /server:87.237.38.50
But when i try to log into tranq with my main acc (using either my eve or eve2 shortcuts) i cant get in, yet i can get in with no problems using my 2nd acc.
edit: Fixed it, prev poster said about deleting user_.dat, i did this but it didn't work, i deleted one of the user(number).dat files (with the same timestamp) and this fixed it. =============================================
My sig got edited, and all i got was a lousy e-mail |

CCP WHY ARE YOU NOT JUST MAKE THIS SHORCUT AUTOMATICLY WHEN YOU INSTALL THE TEST PATCH. THIS WAY YOU PREVENTING PLAYERS TO F*CKUP THERE CURRENT EVE CLIENT WITH A TEST VERSION OF IT
this whole "/end /LUA:OFF" is all for vista. FFS (IMHO) make this default and if running vista disable it
I know you dont care, buts that is a common thing we already know of CCP (f*ckups)
yarrr bring it on

They might be doing something more usefull , like removing bugs from the current build on sisi and stuff like that rather than trying to make an installer moron-proof.
No one forces you to use the test server. You don't like it just stick to TQ

Copy and paste this, and you will be fine
"/END /LUA:OFF" /end /server:87.237.38.50
Note the 3 spaces, one before each /end and one before /server. This is important, wont work without it.

i've always had my profile sitting in the program directory:
"C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\eve.exe" /end /LUA:OFF
and the test one in the local sttings:
C:\evetest\eve.exe /end /server:87.237.38.50
and no problem until today, can't get into tq, it says corrupted data re-install. something changed and i assume it has something to do with the corrupted patch from yesterday. solutions above do not solve, any other ideas or do we have another corrupt check at log in?

Ok it worked now, you have to delete entire CCP directory in Vista, deleting only cache might not be enough sometimes :)

Thanks, I had to delete the entire CCP folder as well to get it to work. Running XP btw.
And thanks CCP, now I can adjust my settings, windows and whatnot again :(
