Hi,
my character was "asleep" for a long time (account inactive). Now reactivated I encountered an interestingly modified attribute point system with the option of "neural remapping".
The problem: When I start the neural remapping dialog I start with -2 points as unassigned. I have to subtract two points before being able to add attribute points. How does this come? Is this a wanted feature?
My actual attribute points: IN 23, PE 22, CH 16, WI 21, ME 21 with "limited" (+1) implants for IN, PE, CH, WI
Hope someone can clarify, thanks. |

It's because you have an older character that has attributes that are outside of the limits of the new system (used to be lower than 5/higher than 15 before the learning skill removal, now it's 17GÇô27).
As a result, you have an attribute that is too low, and consequently, too many points spread over the rest of them. Until you fix that by bumping up the low attribute to its minimum level, you're not allowed to distribute any attribute points.
In your case, it's the charisma that is messing you up: you only have a base value of 15 (16 with the implant). You need to spend two attribute points to get that (permanently) up to at least 17.
You're not going to lose any points GÇö you're just going to have to fit your existing attribute points within the acceptable range. GÇöGÇöGÇö GÇ£If you're not willing to fight for what you have in GëívGëí you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.GÇ¥ GÇö Karath Piki-á |

You might actually consider not remapping in that case. I think it is Caldari Acura that had the 15 Charisma and an relatively high everything else base. Charisma is often regarded not very highly. Unless you're training for command (of fleets or your own corp) and/or trade (and a few skills in social) you don't really need Charisma.
Just do the math (with Eve Mon?) to see how you'd like it worked out, but you may be in a better situation not remapping. I know of at least one other person that made that decision. |

I'm Achura. I started with 3 charisma, but the lowest limit was raised to 5 when Apocrypha (the wormhole expansion) was released as part of the New Player Experience (NPE) overhaul, which allowed attribute remapping (before then you were stuck forever with your attributes). When I started, you chose your race and bloodline, then assigned 5 attribute points with no more than 3 to any single attribute. I had no clue at the time what impact they had, but made a pretty decent choice.
The learning skills were later removed, and all attributes were increased by 12, so the new minimum is now 17.
I've never remapped, as I don't want to waste 2 more points in charisma, and my current mapping works well for my training purposes: 25i 21p 20m 18w 15c (with implants: 30i 26p 25m 23w 20c). |
