Can't resume or even cancel it.
I apologise for making a completely new topic, but my question wasn't being answered in the other one.

I had that, make sure you have over 900mb of free disk space on the drive with eve installed.

13.2GB is more than 900MB, right?

Your content download is stopped because of a network problem. 0%done. Downloading will automatically resume when the network is back up.

Ok guys I've sorted this out.
First, make sur that your Documents and Settings drive (not where EvE is installed) has 900Mb space. The reason is that the cache is download in the "My documents" folder AND NOT the "EvE" folder. If not, it will not work at all.
You can move your My Documents folder to another drive if needed. There are plenties of solutions on the web, just use your google skills for that. When there is enough space, Use BITS download manager (available here: http://www.request-response.com/blog/PermaLink,guid,20f94f47-6ea2-46a8-97b0-bdfdea4fb4f8.aspx) to REMOVE the download. Restart EvE, there should be the message that the new content is available and the download should start correctly now. ____________________________________ A gift for pirates |

Edited by: Tharrn on 27/11/2007 20:19:23 Is there a way to enable peer caching for BITS on Vista Home Premium? I can only find solutions for Vista Professional :/ 15kb/s doesn't cut it tbh.

I could be wrong, but I think they turned the download off. I'm stuck at 92.1% because of a network problem.
C: has 10 gigs free. Drive with my test client has 50gigs free.
And, as you might have noticed, my network is working

Yeah...
Some kind of direct link would be nice. But no, CCP wants to test BITS.
Well CCP, it's not working!

Don't ask me why, I restarted my client a few times and suddenly my download was complete. I'm installing the stuff now.

I had no problem, and im using vista enterprise behind a firewall that wont let me connect to the server...and it still downloaded the new content at over 8 megaBYTES a second.
Is yout BITS service enabled in the admin tools->services pane?
These are the worst problem to diagnose...as the service is not inherently broken, as its working for some, and not others

Yeah, I managed to find BITS, made sure it was already enabled.
So to recap: Disk space is not an issue, BITS is working fine, and my connection is clearly okay. The only problem I can think of is my dumbass landlord's router which blocks ports and interferes with incoming bitTorrent connections, but if I'm directly requesting a connection through the EVE client that shouldn't be a problem.
So that leaves another yet-unknown problem, or something serverside.
