With all graphics maxed, and running SLI just for this game. Then i have no idea what i should tweak in my PhysX configs in my control panel.
Anyone have any astounding ideas? =D |

They could improve my graphics no end if they would allow me to change the gamma in game. A simple request, that would seem a monumental task. I have to ask myself, "how hard could it be?" |

You might try asking your questions about client settings here instead.

lol does eve even use any physics x stuff in the engine? Newtonian physics would be awesome though!
(Yeah yeah its a different galaxy.. blah blah.) Come on now you dont really buy that? It would have been too much of a PITA at the time to code real physics into the game... So they didn't. |

I was under the impression SLI is null with EVE.

You should be able to adjust gamma through your GFX card's settings easily enough. Personally I adjusted mine to a bit darker, upped the color intensity and the game's just damn gorgeous to me know. Add to it I recently moved my PC into the living room and attached it to my 60" plasma and I must say I'm enjoying myself a lot lately.

It's too much of a PITA to do so now. CCP needed to implement TiDi to allow the servers to gracefully degrade in performance just handling the current mechanics. True Newtonian physics would send server loads skyrocketing.
You do realize that when you see something like ragdoll physics in a game like BF3, the server is not keeping track of that, right? That means that the same explosion that sent your enemy's corpse flying over a wall on your computer could have well sent him into the wall on his computer. The physics of collapsing buildings and their damage are also largely pre-computed or shortcut (building collapse does AOE damage). That's because the physics there is only a "visual bling" thing, not an actual functional game mechanic.
In Eve, Newtonian physics would mean altering ship trajectories, overhauling bumping to actually change the course of both ships based on the ships' shapes (and possibly do damage), slowly shifting the 67253 planets and all other associated celestial objects (tens of thousands of moons, asteroid belts, stations, POSes, etc) and a number of other things.
It's not a matter of "how hard can it be, just stick it all on Nvidia PhysX" because the calculations of everything cannot be done on your computer. CCP simply do not have the computing power (nor the developer time) to implement something like this. The most that will realistically happen is physically-simulated ship "debris" upon explosions, and the nice physics simulations on the clothes and hair in the WiS aspect of the game. Things to bring EvE to 2012...or at least 2009!
More effects: Some depth of field, possibly SSAO, basically do what other companies are doing to hide that they aren't making much progress in texture quality
Better Textures: This isn't 2004 any more and no, the new Gallente and Caldari ships aren't pretty they are only nice relative to the really outdated things they replace.
The Interface....like come on: The excel interface is more imaginative and user friendly than the interface in a space game! I know this is an MMO so you rely on social interaction over having a good product but come on you guys and girls at CCP have one of the worst most uninspiring interfaces I have ever experienced and every tweak you make to it is conservative enough to be a Republican Candidate.
I was going to rant about the interface but I think I'll break out teh creative studio and make an amateur version of the interface that would make space a lot better. Things I have realized from the EvE forums: Many people beleive cost means money and only money |

For what Eve does, I am truly grateful. For what she does in a single shard enviro', I am truly grateful. For the fun she provides me, I am truly grateful.
And I am truly grateful that MUM BOUGHT BE THE BESTEST VIDEO CARD IN THE UNIVERSE so I could come onto the forums and ***** about stuff I know absolutely **** all about.
**MY** Eve is beautiful. I love her.

I would beg to differ. We wouldn't need planet orbits etc calculated... because well not a great impact in gameplay. However ship handling and velocities etc would be nice... However given the fighting mechanics...and the dice rolling might not have quite the impact either. (my main
Now then im less upset that it's not in the game more upset with the BS line of "In eve physics work differently..." Rather than "We just couldnt find a good way to make real physics work out that well."

Moving celestials would have amazing consequences, particularly for the location bookmarking system. I agree that having more "real" physics in Eve is nice, but it is unfortunately literally impossible for CCP to do that.
"In Eve, physics work differently" is usually a crappy RP excuse for ships slowing down when their thrusters are off, having max speeds, and other such things. No more, no less.
