I Tablaren Ludwig Von Steiner-Kador, acting CEO of the Kingdom of Kador on behalf of my wife, family, friends, and the rest of humanity do hereby petition the Secure Commerce Commission.
I find your work to allow Illegal items to be sold on the open Market in regions that have laws against the ownership, transit, or sale of such goods to be Immoral, Illegal, and profoundly Evil.
It is the belief of myself that the SCC does not have the authority to flout Local, Regional, or National laws and should abandon the misbegotten plans to allow illicit items to be sold in any and all locations.
I have started this petition to garner support against such action and to provide you of evidence of the disgust and rage this would bring forth by members of the clusters community.
We may not have authority or power over the various legal means to take action. But capsuleers do hold power in space therefor I am insituting a boycott with those under my charge of doing business with, for, and through SCC means.
May your stations Hydrogen batteries and bioconsumables find ways onto your stations other then through a vessel with a captain that has a conscience.
Sincerely Tablaren Ludwig Von Steiner-Kador, acting CEO of the Kingdom of Kador
(Please do not turn this into a flame channel ^^ As this is a Petition I ask that those who do not support my petition create their own petition in support or use the other two threads allready dedicated to discuss the topic)

As a gallente true blood and a pod pilot trained in the FNA academy, I find this appalling and absolutely out of bounds for the SCC to allow. CONCORD has gone too far this time. How do you intend to boycott the SCC? All transactions of isk go through them. Do you intend to resign yourself to conducting your economical affairs through simple barter of goods?
Also, if you're serious about boycotting SCC, you ought to repay them any bounties you are paid when destroying the ships of non-capsuleer outlaws. You also should not insure any of your ships, and if you lose one, you should return the basic insurance payout to the SCC, along with the new frigate you are customarily given.

I, Verin "Stitcher" Tarn-Hakatain, hereby sign this petition, though I will not boycott the SCC, as I believe that they remain integral and vital to the process of interstellar trade, and thus the continuation of my career as a capsuleer.
Instead I would like to remind the SCC that, as a division of CONCORD, their mandate is to enforce agreed-upon interstellar law, not to overrule established local law. -

I, Kamalakshi Deattai-Shandrasekkar, CEO of House Shandrasekkar Security Division and representative of our investor's interest, hereby sign this petition. Even ignoring purely moral strictures, i consider the local advertisement of illegal products as strategically shortsighted and commercially abhorrent.
The SCC shouldn't ignore the potential long-term detrimental effects in order to pursue short-term profit. -

You people do realize that all trades via the SCC are secure and confidential. This means that firstly, there can be no government interference and secondly the SCC cannot go snooping through your wallet or trades.
If the sale of such goods bothers you so deeply perhaps you should direct your efforts towards trying to make customs licenses available for purchase by capsuleers.
In closing: SCC is a division of CONCORD. CONCORD is not customs. Any illegal goods you find available for sale are due to the failing of the local customs authority. It is not the job of the SCC to decree what is and isn't legal on a national or factional level. -------- EVE Trinity: THE SKY IS FALLING! |

Yeah I agree, but isn't that exactly what they're doing? Previously illegal goods have not been available on the market in controlled space, due to SCC restrictions, and now they will be.
So, they've gone from apparently workin with local customs in terms of not allowing illegal goods to be bought or sold, to totally ignoring customs and legality.
Heh, if I was a nationalistic kinda guy, I'd be pretty concerned about this..CONCORD are giving ya a pretty clear picture they have no regard for the empires they apparently 'protect'.

Signed. Though I do not respect the Amarr institution of slavery, I respect their right to stop goods such as drugs or prohibited substances being sold on their stations, just as I would want to stop slaves from being sold in Federation space.
SSC, abandon your plan immedietely. It goes against all logic. ----- The views expressed in these posts, while inarguably correct, are not neccessarily the views of my corporation or alliance.

All I heard until now was hearsay, but if I see a single slave on sale in the Gallente Federation, there will be some hell to pay. How exactly, I am not sure, but I may just end up arrested for beating up an SCC official I run into on the station. This is not something I usually do, but even an Intaki has his or her limits of patience and understanding.
Free people of the Federation can not stand idly and watch this happen. --- Beneath all of our differences there's a single bond between every living Gallentean that makes us hard as diamond: a love of freedom. |

Whilst I would not want to give any implicit support for such democratic systems as this petition implies, I feel this matter is of immediate utmost importance to securing the moral and social fabric of our society
I would also encourage people to boycott the sale of exotic dancers, spirits and other morally degrading and illegal goods and services and actively persue those who would seek to corrupt holy Amarrian institutions by peddling such things in Amarrian space, should these measures go through

I hate to rub against popular consensus, but as an avid believer in the principles of free trade I welcome these changes with open arms. While the nations still have sovereign right to enact laws and restrictions on their citizens, the existing trade laws imposed by the SCC are redundant and unneccessarily restrict the flow of goods between the Empires. Interstellar trade is one, if not the most important factor that maintains peace in the civilized world that many of us benefit from today.
Much of the hysteria surrounding this reversal is the concern that illicit goods will have much easier access to local economies, however this is far from true. There are two natural barriers a purveyer of illegal goods must overcome: local demand and customs authorities. Rampant hysteria over the sale and purchase of slaves in Pator and Luminaire are ignoring the fact that there will be little or no demand for such goods in civilized societies. And should some unscrupulous character decide to purchase said goods, he won't be able to enjoy his reward outside of the hangar walls of the station where he purchased it. Any illegal goods would be requisitioned by local authorities the moment he or she stepped foot onto sovereign territory.
So as you can see, the changes inducted by the SCC will be a welcome opportunity for increased interstellar trade and the hyteria of illicit goods infecting their borders is a reactionary response propagated by fanatical interest groups.

First, it's not a bribe it's a system. One put in place to allow us capsuleers to brutalize each other without the collateral damage and escalation that would happen without it.
Second, the SCC is a division of CONDCORD. -------- EVE Trinity: THE SKY IS FALLING! |

There is no problem with the SCC. The problem lies within the Empires. Anything is legal somewhere, so to simplify matters something should be legal anywhere.

I too am a believer in free trade, but I think the original topic of illegal goods being sold on the open market in areas where the simple possession of said items goes against law, goes to further point out a gross hypocracy in the system.
Today you can sell any illegal good on the open market without fear of prosectution, HOWEVER...
When transporting said goods within that area, customs can and will detain, scan, fine, conficsate, up to kill you for doing so.
Which begs the questions:
Why is it legal to sell the item in the open market, but illegal to be found transporting it?
How much money would be saved on customs, if the items were disallowed for sale in those systems? At that point customs would only need to focus the majority of their time on incomming goods.
If customs can scan a ship, why not routine checks of hangar contents?
